I'll be down in Houston for a week for work and then flying the wifey down for a weekend as well. I think we have some people from Texas here. Anyways, we are probably going to do an Airbnb, but I was looking for suggestions on where to stay in the City. I've come accross places in Downtown, East Downtown, Midtown, Montrose, Menil Collection, Greater Third Ward. Any places to avoid? Where do you recommend?

I lived there several years. It depends what you want to do. Does your wife want to shop? Zoo? Museums? Get a gold grizill?

Brisket and Tex-Mex are a must.

I'd stay downtown near the Museum/Parks district. Also would spend a few days in Galveston.
