We all know it's horrible and really, really unfortunate it's spreading. But the question remains: what you do you think the outcome is going to be? I'm worried people can get the idea of jumping the border. Not that it has hit mexico yet, but if it does, it's more likely you'll see someone border jumping with the disease to be treated than other outcomes(besides planes).

I have a few options of what will happen.

Black Plague.

I Am Legend.

Total chaos.

Me stacking up on guns, ammo, food and my crazy gun buds to take cover in my friends badass house in middle of Pop. 5 Tennessee..

Wait for dat stuff to blow over..

Then it becomes airborne..

omg

Are you saying that "wait for dat stuff to blow over" is worse than Zombies, or is the Black Plague worse than Zombies. I think the worst case scenario is Zombies.

It's been around since 1976. Longer actually, that's just when it was discovered. I believe that it's transmitted through bodily fluid. It isn't airborne. We're gonna be fine.

Just so you know despbro, the stuff you are talking about is not really all that new. "be prepared" is a boyscout thing. I don't know if you are even a real bro if you weren't in boy scouts, but it's not a big deal to have some shit together for when SHTF. It's not abnormal for non military peeps to have their shit together.

But you also gotta not get stupid or panic and do stupid stuff when you think you have to panic. Don't go and buy a bunch of hand sanitizer because you heard ebola is in Texas. Get your head on straight. You'll be aight.

Overreact much? Like Mick said, it isn't an airborne illness.

Hope it doesn't mutate in to something airborne.

We are overdue for a pandemic.

There has been a case in animals that were not in each others immediate vicinity where one contracted the virus from another. The theory is that tiny droplets of bodily fluids were suspended in the air and were inhaled by the other animal. The infected animals lungs showed significantly more damage than the rest of the internal organs

This is not exactly an airborne illness but it does mean there is at least the possibility of an airborne-like way to contract the virus

But that doesn't mean anyone should start panicking. That's worse than coming into contact with someone infected.

There have already been two people to completely recover from ebola in the u.s. They were care providers in Liberia that were flown to Emery university in Atlanta. They were given expert care and had their electrolyte levels monitored and regulated carefully. They passed blood tests two days in a row and were released

It kind of seems that anyone who is relatively healthy and has a strong immune system is not really at that much of a risk, just don't let an infected person spit into your mouth...

Stay away from the sick guy... that and it only kills about half the people it infects... so the strong will survive...
Now Rabies mutating would be scary...

Makes sense. I can't imagine the quality of health care in Liberia or Guinea is any better than the quantity (roughly one doctor per 100,000 people).

Why does the US have a patent for Ebola?

The u.s. is only looking out for our health and well being :lmao:

I'm sure their reasons will become clear sometime in the future. And I'm sure it will negatively affect a vast majority of the population

Why does the US have a patent for Ebola?

The why is obvious. Exclusive rights to the profits of an invention.
So the is the real question is, "how"... unless the US actually invented ebola.

That's what you're getting at amirite?
