How did you start posting on forums/message boards?

Gather around the fire, it's time for a story kids. I was really into playing Madden and NCAA Football on the PS1 and eventually the PS2. In between fap sesssions in my early teenage years, I would look up information about the current and future editions of the game. I wound up on a fan site called MaddenMania. Posted around for awhile and eventually found myself on MaddenNation (This is where I met Zack, that I started CCS with). This was bought and merged with 2 other sites to create SportsGamer. Eventually I met 2 other guys on SportsGamer and we created our own Madden Site.

Which in the same spiral turned into an overall sports gaming site. At it's height, when I was 19-20, I sold the site and around that time me/zack were kicking around the idea of CCS. We tried it 1 time on a shitty software and it failed. A year later we decided to try it again, it was started right around the LeBron to Chicago hype and the Blackhawks first cup run several years back. It took off and we had a solid community built up. Then Grimson came along and ruined everything :)

Now, I only post on CCS and Reddit.

The 06 Bears and Rex pulled me to CBMB. When it went to hell Mick told us about CCS. Only MB I go to. So you can blame Rex and Mick for me being here.

I like hockey so I started trolling HFBoards in 04. HFBoards member told me to join IHN so I did.

Then I was conned and forced to join Rush's shitty site in the IHN merge.

I accidentally clicked the link for the CBMB when I was checking out the official site and realized there was some good info and comedy in there.

I remember Googling something sports related and saw Yahoo Answers for the first time. I wanted to add my opinion, so I made an account and joined. I answered a lot of questions on that site whenever I was on the computer. However, it got boring pretty fast [within 3-4 months]. I kinda stopped posting on there, and one day someone messaged me saying they started a basketball forum and wanted me to join.

I joined almost exactly 6 years ago [forum started 8/7/2015]. The layout was shitty, but the conversation and the arguments were great. We were a tight-knit community of like 30-40 posters. Even though we didn't have many people, we posted a lot and it was hardly ever boring. Plus, there were hardly any rules at that place. The owner of that site made me an admin, and then I made some other people mods. We pretty much let everything go unless it was really bad. All the bans were a community based decision. If the general opinion of one poster was positive, they could pretty much get away with anything. If it was negative, we all pretty much decided they needed to go.

Most of our posters were in high school or college. Because we didn't have many posters and didn't spend much time recruiting, people started to leave little by little because life happened. Then others started using that MSN chat thing. Next thing we knew, the activity was all but dead.

Me and some others tried to make a new sports forum with the help of one of our web-designer posters on the site. He made a beautiful forum for us, but then bailed and joined another forum. So we were left trying to recruit again, but failed.

Shortly after, I simply Googled, "Chicago sports forum." CCS and some other shitty site came up. CCS looked better so I joined. I currently only post here.

The Bears 06 Super Bowl loss sent me looking for a place that shared in my misery.... I found CBMB and pretty much lurked there entirely until it shut down and erbody moved over to CCS.

When I got to CCS I intended to mostly lurk, but The Bar required me to post a bit, so I started posting and just never stopped.

If it wasn't for that post requirement on The Bar, I might have remained amongst our horde of Bears forum lurkers.

I joined the day McCown fucked the Cowboys. I was looking for another Hawks board. I searched Blackhawks forum in Tapatalk and CCS came up first. I chose it over others because I thought the thank/rep system looked neat. I mainly lurked until the beginning of the 2014 Bears season when I started posting regularly.

Moved to Buffalo for grad school in '09 and had no one to talk Bearsz with so joined CBMB. Then someone went all porn-happy and we were forced to move here, which I like 'cause we can swear. Fuckshitcunt.

HeHateMe made me start posting on boards. I strived to be in his realm. I realized I could never reach those kind of internet heights, so I sold out and became a half mod. I wish HeHateMe would come back. Now, I have to read this Xenos MacScallop guy talk. But, I am starting to get intrigued by this Xavier McPrawn fella doe. I just have to see if he can talk serious Bears football and I may have a new leader.

Oh and of course I started posting so I get some mad

Before the internet (as we know it today), and before message boards there were Bulletin Board Systems (BBS). The first ones I posted on were engineering/work related. Using the internet was a natural transition. At first everything was tech and education, then gaming and porn, then everything else.

I am old.

In other words, I don't remember the first place I posted. Probably something about cave decorating, or club crafting, maybe woman dragging.
