i'm guessing he'll just add a thing to the video tag to allow vines. should be a simple fix

Well, vines can come from a number of different services. A vine is a just a short video compromised of clips from other videos. I know a site/service/app called Vine came out a few years ago, if that is what you mean. But before I look into adding embed code for vine(only because you would be the first to request it), I would need to know if that is what you mean.

And of course, if it's never used, then it might get thrown into the dumpster of forum modifications that have too small of a demand to keep when we do upgrades or troubleshoot issues.

By the way, use courtesy when embedding videos.

For instance, don't spam threads with embeds, whether they are vines or youtubes. Also Please... PLEASE put a disclaimer in the topic(like Vines, [vines], etc), because vines are still resource intensive for what they do, especially if someone may not have a powerful device, or they have a lot of other programs running, or they're at work. Vines increase user resources quite a bit considering it is just a simple 6 second clip.

Did you implement it as autoplay? It might help performance a little bit to have it not do that if you did?

Buffers are virtually the same either way. Not like youtube, where it loads the thumb, metainfo, flash plugin(in many instances until youtube fixes a huge backlog of video conversions and buggy source videos that wont convert to html5 compatible vp8/9), annotations, and trackers for each video before autoplay.
