It seems like all the rosters are set for all the teams pretty much.
We have better idea of what the teams look like (barring any injuries or major trade), what do you think the Eastern Conference will shape up like???

How do you think it will go???

My personal predictions:
----------------------------

1 - Orlando Magic
2 - Boston Celtics
3 - Cleveland Cavs
4 - Chicago Bulls (gut feeling & Homer pick)
5 - Atlanta Hawks
6 - Miami Heat
7 - Washington Wizards
8 - Toronto Raptors

9 - Philly 76ers
10 - Detroit Pistons
11 - Indiana Pacers
12 - Charlotte Bobcats
13 - New Jersey Nets
14 - New York Knicks
15 - Milwaukee Bucks

I know and I can´t explain why. I also could say easily that the Pistons are around the 7th spot. But there is this feeling that the Pistons will surprise next season.

1. Cavs-good regular season team
2. magic-gained confidence
3. celtics-injuries unrail their season
4. bulls
5. hawks-drop off...
6. raptors-jump up after getting a good 3 point shooter over marion
7. sixers-still pretty good
8. pistons-they're gonna be just as bad as last year, and they'll dump rip for nothing

9. bobcats-about where they were last year
10. heat-dwyane wade will be unmotivated
11. wizards-agent 0 will go down again.
12. pacers-granger's not enough
13. nets-will be bad with only devin
14. knicks-good enough for not last...
15. bucks-horrible with injuries and no scoring punch. expect a top 3 pick in a great draft next year.

01) Orlando Magic - Deepest team in East, maybe the leauge. Their starting lineup is killer and Nelson is healthy.
02) Cleveland Cavaliers - Do you really think Shaq makes them much better?
03) Boston Celtics - Something is bound to happen to them. Bad chemistry with Rondo issue and age.
04) Chicago Bulls - Ok, this is my high end projection if things click. If Rose kicks ass and matures, Noah plays well, Tyrus is decent, Deng plays like Deng and Salmons plays the same, I see them making noise. The loss of Gordon shouldnt KILL us if the rest of the team is much better than they WERE! Hey...there is a reason they are called predictions!
05) Atlanta Hawks
06) Washington Wizards - Wiz are good if Arenas is good and they got Mike Miller and Randy Foye
07) Miami Heat - They played at their optimal level last year. Wade can't get better and Beasley is nuts. O'neal is old, who else do they got!?!?
08) Toronto Raptors

09) Philadelphia 76ers - Toss up really. They lost Andre Miller and I feel they are a tossup between Toronto. I took Toronto.
10) Detroit Pistons - I don't see this team being good. Awful defense which was their trademark.
11) New Jersey Nets
12) Charlotte Bobcats
13) Indiana Pacers
14) Milwaukee Bucks
15) New York Knicks

1. Cavs- The Shaq/Big Z center platoon is going to be just what this team needs
2. Celtics- If they're healthy they should be a couple games better than Orlando
3. Magic- They will have their struggles, but they're a shoe in for at least the 3rd seed
4. Heat- Wade and a improved Beasley is enough to get the 4th slot in a weak East
5. Hawks- A talent clash is likely, but I'll believe that when I see it
6. Sixers- The Sixers won't be as good, but I'd doubt they'll be bad enough to drop out
7. Bulls- The Bulls will still have to win playing three against five on offense
8. Raptors- A good team on offense, but will struggle to defend and rebound

9. Wizards- I don't think their main guys will be healthy enough to crack top 8
10. Pistons- Very good talent on the perimeter, but there's just not enough balls for the trio
11. Pacers- Not a bad mix of talent, but not good enough to make noise
12. Nets- A year away from making playoff noise
13. Knicks- They will continue to position themselves for a big 2010
14. Bobcats- I could see this team selling off Raja Bell, and going with youth
15. Bucks- This organiztion is playing for the Favors or Davis sweepstakes

Mark, I don't know if you've been keeping up with the Beasley stuff, but it turns out he's not nuts. Beasley was in an outpatient program because he was in that room with marijuana at the Rookie Seminar. (For some reason Arthur/Chalmers got to retake the course, while Beasley had to do a rehab program. Presumably Beasley failed a drug test during the year). Beasley broke one of the program's rules (a non-drug related rule) and was forced to go into an inpatient program, or he wouldn't be able to play in the NBA anymore, until he completed this rehab. The twitter posts were in response to being forced into the inpatient program by the NBA.

All reports this summer up until this incident was that Beasley was working out hard. I think Beasley is going to blow up this year, and at the very least, be the second best player from his rookie class next year.

1. Magic- By far the deepest team in the East & better defensively. Carter, Barnes, Bass, Andersen, & J-Will all excellent additions to a great team.
2. Cavs - LeBron & Shaq both have chips on their shoulders looking to prove something.
3. Celtics - If KG is the KG of old, they may be better but sadly I think his career is coming to an end.
4. Hawks - They won 47 games last season, have the same team + Crawford, Smith, & Teague.
5. BULLS - The loss of BG hurts, but will be replaced by the all-star play of Rose. Salmons, Miller, & a healthy Deng will surely be in order. Plus we have Pargo. He hit some huge shots in the 04-05 playoffs for us, & is a 39.5% career 3pt shooter.
6. Heat - Q-Rich will help spread the floor. What Beasley will show up at training camp? Lets pray Miami is horrible, so we can bring a superstar back to his home.
7. Wiz - With Flip in charge & a fully healthy Arenas behind the wheel, this team will be deadly. Foye, Oberto, & Miller give their Big 3 a better supporting cast.
8. Pistons - Detroit was horrible in 3pt % last year. They got 2 of the best in BG & Villanueva now. BG will do just enough to carry this team into the playoffs.

9. 76ers - Losing Miller will hurt them more than they thought it would.
10. Raptors - Their wretched D will be their undoing in the playoff chase.
11. Pacers
12. Bobcats
13. Nets
14. Knicks
15. Bucks

I don't believe Detroit will make it. This talk that losing Gordon KILLS the Bulls is crazy to me, makes no damn sense. We didn't lose 15 games with one player. People on here are not taking coaching at all into consideration. Some rookie coach is just going to make a team overachieve? Highly unlikely.

Boston will be very good because of their talent level, bringing in Rasheed will be huge. And he will toe the line with Garnett there, who comes closest to Jordan as anybody when it comes to being a team leader. Cleveland will do well again but not well enough to get past the ECF, might lose to Orlando in the second round again. Miami will do a little better than Atlanta so they will switch spots. Washington and Toronto will do better with the additions of Arenas and Hedo. Will be an interesting season.

1. Cavs - I'm almost tempted to say #2 for them as Shaq clogs up the lanes that once opened for LeBron. But I'm sure they'll find a way to make it work for the better of the team.

2. Magic - I personally question the move of Hedo for Vince, but I guess it evens the floor out and Hedo needed the ball in his hands, which means now Nelson can handle the ball even more so. Still Vince is older. I think Magic could take #1 if Dwight has managed to expand offensively and especially if Shaq and LeBron tandem doesn't have the chemistry the Cavs would hope for.

3. Celtics - I think people underestimate the Celtics. But what we must remember is this team started hot last season and it was only KG's injury that slowed them down. If KG can come back and play at the same level he did previous to the injury I think Celtics have #1 potential. However considering the age of KG and Ray Allen I think they'll finish a close 3rd. Either way its going to be a tight race between Cavs, Magic & Celtics. The rest of the teams are a distance from the top 3.

4. Hawks - I see a few people putting the Bulls in front of this team, but I can't see how you can forget there record last year then you add the fact they now have a deeper bench and possibly a solid 6th man in Jamal Crawford. Not only that we lost Ben Gordon.

5. BULLS - I think a lot of the way Chicago goes will depend on a lot of things. The improvement of Rose being most important, but Deng being healthy and ready to play closer to his 06-07 season, Salmons retaining his 08-09 play, Kirk & Pargo replacing Ben, Noah's and Tyrus improving & how the 2 rookies turn out all factors in to whether we become a 4th seed 2nd round playoff team, or a late lottery team.

6. Heat - Richardson coming aboard gives the Heat a much needed outside scorer. How will Beasley fair?

7. Wizards - Will Arenas be healthy and back in form? How will the new supporting cast fit in. This has a big factor on whether the Wizards end up at #4 seed, or a lottery team. A wide range of possibilities with this team.

8. Pistons - Weird guard rotation. Will it work with a weak front court. The best they can hope for is a 1st round knock out. The worst will be mid-late lottery. Ben may finally get the respect and appreciation he deserves (as well as a fat pay cheque), but at the cost of winning for a while.

9. Raptors - This team a year before was a good team. Now with Hedo on board they should be better and could possibly make the playoffs.

10. 76ers - With Miller no longer running an offense they will be worse. Whether Brand can start to gain back form and fit in better may help a little but not much could change the most likely outcome of not making the playoffs.

11. Bucks - Skiles is a great coach and will help them overachieve, but not much else could prevent them from a likely outcome of lottery.

12. Pacers - Not much going for this side. Its now TJ Fords team. Can he live up to the hype he once had?

13. Nets - Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, Brook Lopez and Rafer Alston are the only players with any resemblance of talent of being beyond minimum contract. And sorry but Yi has no potential of improving despite being in his 3rd year and former high lottery pick. At least they have 3 young players to build upon, but it won't help there fate this season.

14. Bobcats - If Iverson comes aboard it could help slightly but nothing will change the fate of lottery for this team.

15. Knicks - What if Darko, Eddy & Danilo realize there potential? Will Nate & Lee be back? Even if I don't see much hope for the Knicks. And I think there 2010 plan will ultimately become either fruitless or end up with one of the lesser targets like Amare Stoudemire, not one of the top 3 they would hope for. I'd feel sorry for them if it wasn't for the past rival thus my hatred of the franchise.

1. Boston. i like their defense. Not their offense.
2. Cavs. they're good, but they're old. i think they should have a pretty good record this year.
3. Magic. They have a more traditional style offense this year with bass at pf. This team is going to be as good as dwight howard is. Although he's a defensive juggernaut, he lacks offensive skills.
4. Hawks. Their bench became better with addition of crawford. Honestly he's a pretty decent player coming off the bench. i put them here, because no other team in east became better.
5. I think at this point it becomes a crapshoot. Any of the following teams might be in the lottery or in the playoffs.

Wizards. If healthy they might get it together. They have a decent bench in foye and miller. Also Foye might be able to give the wizards insurance for when arenas goes out. Also Blanche and Mcgee seem as if they'd be pretty decent role players this year.
6. Heat- they suck, but they still have wade.
7. bulls we're just not an elite team with miller salmons. we might be able to rise up to the 6th spot, but i dont see us beating the hawks, magic, cavs, or boston.
8. Toronto. In all truth i preferred Marion to Hedo. Marion was a defensive Sf that was capable of grabbing rebounds. something Baragani didnt really do. Still they have a healthy Calderon, nice wing players, and a pretty decent pf/c. wizards

9pistons. they suck. they dont have a center. their bigs suck. their coach will prolly be lame too
10 pacers they might be a really good team. they mgiht not. they ahve a really good player in granger.
11. Without miller, i dont think anyone would be capable of getting dalembert and willie green into games. Miller really did make alot of mediocre players seem better.
12bobcats. chandler is lame
13 knicks. i just imagine they suck.
14 nets. they lost their star player for courtney lee and rafer alston. They still have a gaping hole at sf and pf.

Thats people just overvaluing Ben, Ben is a good player, but he is not a franchise changing player, he is not a player that will lead you to the promise land, Detriot will probably be as bad as last years team.

Hey mlewinth,

Did you copy my predictions and just changed couple of them around??? ;)

Just kidding. You and me think a lot alike.

Also, I personally would like both Raptors and Miami MISSING the playoffs - meaning more chances that Wade and Bosh bolt for another team.

they lost two of their starters and gained ben gordon and a few role players. i think they'll be worse than last years team. their front court lacks talent.
