I am really interested on guaging a pulse from this fine Bulls community on how you are feeling now, considering Free Agency is comming up in less than 4 days. If you have listened to CBE 109, you probobly saw Fred, the ever pessimist, being his normal paranoid, overly pessimistic self. I on the other hand have been ridiculously excited. Glued to the sports shows, internet articles, etc. I have not really listened to sports radio in about 3 years, as I feel its become kind of a glorified US magazine, for sports (and I hate Chicago sports coverage of the Bulls), but have been listening to Chicago sports radio non-stop for about 3 days. I don't think I have ever been this excited to be a Bulls fan.

How do you feel? Excited? Worried? Ready for heart break? Do you see a dynasty literally a stones throw away?

:woohoo:

I am biting my nails and sitting on pins and needles till Thursday and probably till Bron makes up his mind. I think its far from certainty that we will land him or one of the big fas. I think it happens and am optimistic but I can't get too excited till it happens.

I'm optimistic.

IF we, god willing we will, get lebron, i dont care who you add to this team. Personally i prefer a shooter who has length to JJ. The shooting guard position isn't one where we need too much from. We need a scoring big. if management fails to address the need, hopefully taj continues to grow.

To be honest, regardless whether we get JJ, we still need a back up 1 and 2, so i'm concerned about the bench more than anything else

duhon is available. morrow is available too.
I'm not sure how much Brad miller has left in the tank. If we loose out on the bosh/aware sweepstakes, we really need to get a back center with some girth to him.

do we have a mle this year? what the devil is an mle split?

here's my plan?

I'd like to trade James Johnson for courtney lee. i hope that's feasible. Trade Deng plus a draft pick for camby and batum. Start courtney lee, go after bosh and lebron, boozer and lebron, lee and lebron, or amare and lebron. I guess sign duhon? or a back up pg at the vet min. we really already have 2 pgs in rose and lebron. In our back up, we just need a shooter. we should be able to find that. i really like the idea of going after a batum or pietrus. Lee is a decent shooter/defender, but he cant guard kobe.

All in all, i think we're on the right track. There's no way we go after JJ. Gar can't be THAT DONE.

I am a mess of feelings right now haha. I am trying to be optimistic although I can see Fred's side of the argument also. I really want Lebron and if we don't get him, there is no way not to be disappointed. I just keep thinking that even if we don't get Lebron, we will get someone who is good and make our team better. And at worse some decent pieces to put around them. And honestly that was what we were expecting the whole time, it wasn't til that Celtics series that any of us starting thinking we had an over 2% chance of getting Lebron.

All I know is that the team will be a lot more fun to watch next year and that we will at least have a consistent playoff team to root for. Rose and Noah are probably going to be getting better also, so there is still plenty to look forward to without Lebron. Good time to be a Bulls fan, even the worst outcome is better than 60% of the league.

I'm pretty much of the same opinion. And barring something like that ugly scenario I posted before, the worst outcome is still pretty good. No matter what, I think we improve and will be excited to watch Bulls basketball.

Oh definitely, its a good anxious. But an anxious nonetheless. With Bron we will be a contender for almost the next decade. So that best case scenario is making me anxious.

Chris Bosh said that the Heat is in "top contention" to sign him as a free agent this summer, while noting that he is not interested in playing center.

"Everybody pretty much is on an even playing field until I hear what they have to say," Bosh said. "I want to see things for myself, how they run everything, what their ideas are."

Bosh "dismissed" a report from Yahoo! Sports that claimed he would certainly follow LeBron James to Chicago should James decide to join the Bulls

If Bosh isn't interested in playing center then I don't see how he ends up in Miami, their second FA is probably going to be another PF (or if not, then their "center" is going to be a min salary scrub).

Anyway I'm pretty confident, all the talk is LeBron to Chicago, you'd think we'd at least have heard something about anywhere else if that was on the cards. I'd say we're odds-on to land him now.

I don't think I've been this excited to be a Bulls fan since June of '91. I'm eagerly anticipating Thursday. All indications are we are Lebron's preferred destination & pretty much every basketball mind out there, NBA executives included, agree. As I've been saying for weeks its either us or Cleveland & I'm now more inclined to say its us & everyone else left scrambling to keep up as we build a super team.

i looked up 2010 free agents, the following can play center

grey, bonner, haywood, frye, stoudemire, fsenko, kristic, etan thomas, darko :p, oberto, petro, JO.

they could trade basel for a center, but i doubt they'd get any thing

chalmers
wade
sf?
bosh
c?

I feel pretty good. I agree with Diddy, I think it's between Chicago and Cleveland.

The night Cleveland lost I thought the Bulls' chances improved greatly, but I thought Clev was still the favorite. Now after the last few weeks I'm starting to think Chicago is the favorite.

We'll see what happens. I've been trying to avoid all the hype, reports and speculation. The non-stop rumors drive me up a wall. I'll be glad when it's here and done. Then we can all start talking.

Plenty of options, they will have at least 7-8 mill a yr to offer after signing wade and bosh. They can sign someone like Haslem, Haywood or Tc if he opts out for that kinda money.

I thought their plan was to move Beasley and sign a second big name, which would mean someone like Amare (also doesn't like to play center) or Boozer (too small for center).

I think they backed off of that. I haven't heard many of those rumors lately. They certainly could though over the draft. I think Riley would want a true C. Haywood and Chanfler would be a good fit next to wade and bosh.
