Derrick Rose got hosed by the refs in this game. He was knocked around quite a bit without getting foul calls, one of the swing points in this game was a play where Rose drove the lane, Tim Duncan just smaked Rose's arm and got credit for a block (a particularly egregious no call), and the Spurs ended up with a three point play on the resulting fast break.

A correct call swings the game by five points, but more importantly would have put the Bulls up by 19 rather than the Spurs cutting the lead to 14. It was a point where the Bulls had a chance to really break the game completely open, but the Spurs were allowed back in it.
Rose shot just one free throw on the night, and I believe it was a technical. I felt the Bulls were the beneficiaries of some dicey calls for a couple games, but the refs did quite a bit to take this game away from them.

does this man need to lose a limb or shead blood to get whistles ONE FT shot all night thats unacceptable i know some of its on him because when he realizes he isnt getting the calls he will back up & start shooting so he does have to be more agressive but can you blame him when he goes in the paint & gets slapped around with no whislte 3....4...5 times down the court youd back up for the jumper tooo.......

whining gets you calls, bottom line. look at players like kobe. biggest whiners in the league get the most FT attempts.

Rose avoids contact and plays with a very finese style. As he gets older, he will start to look for contact.

I don't think it is "whining" necessarily if a player calls a refs attention to valid calls they should be making but aren't. I wouldn't say anything the first time an opponent makes contact with me, but after 3 or 4 times, I might say. "So-and-so keeps fouling me. Why aren't you calling it?"

As Windycity points out. If you aren't getting the calls, why would you keep getting hammered? Rose is quick to dish of the ball to the open man because he is not getting the calls. But he's not getting the calls because he is avoiding contact and passing the ball. It's kind of a "chicken-and-egg" thing. I think he needs to keep driving to the hoop, and let the refs know when he's being treated unfairly.

I understand that bulls doesn't get contact, so he doesn't get calls. What i dont understand is that the opposing defender often wretches rose's arm, and rose still gets no foul. Seriously how does that work? Timmy grabbed rose's arm, Rose CANT avoid that contact.

once again we almost lose a game because of the refs swallowing thier whistle & not giving rose his damn calls we should have won that game in regulation & rose should have shot7-10 more free throw shots

He needs to get more animated with the refs, even if it costs him a tech or two. Also doesn't help having a rookie head coach here, if it's Phil Jackson on the sideline complaining it carries more weight.

yeah i said that in another thread he needs to go sheed for a few games have like 4-7 straight 1 tech games & have the coaching staff start to lean on the refs & use thier 1 techs per game send tapes to the league whatever it takes because right now they arent calling 70% of the shit that happens when it should be 50/50 or 60/40

Yeah he definetly gets no type of respect. If he got to the line like Dwight, Kobe, and Wade/LeBron, Rose would be averaging a good amount of points.

rose have to start doing some hardcore complaining to the refs. even if it means getting a tech, and even getting himself tossed. i think thibs might have to eat a fine from the league by complaining about the ref as well. it's just safe to say rose and thibs can no longer suffer in silence.
