How many threads will get locked up today?

Seriously, this is getting a little out of control with all the threads that are getting derailed and turned into a pissing match between posters who don't like each other. When the CBMB closed down I thought the move here would generate a little more debate, have some funny remarks and trash talk, and I would see a ton of cursing at first but figured it would die down to a reasonable level. But this is getting ridiculous on how many threads start off talking about football and end up being taken over by people insulting one another and calling each other trolls. granted some of those threads I think are started just to incite some arguements, but those threads can still have legit football talk in them. I have certain times during the day when I can post so sometimes I am a little behind on responses and it has driven me crazy because certain threads I had some legit or funny response but the thread ended up being locked due to all the hate going on.

So this is what I am proposing, get all your hate out in this thread. If you are in a thread and it starts to get derailed, treat it like middle school (because most of your arguements sound like you are in middle school) and say I'll meet you in the bar and get all you agression out in this thread. Keep the Bears threads with football talk and witty comments and bring your fights in here. Go ahead and call people trolls all you want and ***** about there team logos to your hearts content, just keep it out of the threads talking football. Some of the CBMB refugees are starting to make me not want to be associated with that old board, which is sad because over there most were pretty cool and could talk some legit football. I just think the over modding done there and the loose modding done here has given you sensory overload and all of yall are going to far with what you can get away with.

You act like a pompous asshole and I am convinced you start threads just to stir the pot and rile the masses up into a frenzy. you always talk about Lovie or Cutler because those are the 2 biggest hot button items. I can only remember around 10 user names, but I think he claims it's over a hundred.

When he's normal, I actually think he's funny. He's manic depressive, though, and occasionally, he goes bananas. He's pretty hard to take at that point.

Overall, I like having him around.

There were a lot. Some of them no one really noticed because we would catch them right out of the gate. About a 1-2 day shelf life. I know there was a week long span where I banned at least 4.

I suppose the logical follow-up question (since I'm Amish about these things) is whether there's a "tell" that you can use to identify all the IP-swapping and just auto-ban him so we don't have to deal with it manually on a regular basis, depending on whether he's actually banned.

You can ban certain regions from registering via IP but it can create a lot of problems. Most of the time it's really just the act of mods not getting lazy and just banning Panda right away as soon as he starts posting dumb shit. It takes 2 seconds to ban someone. It's not tough.

A combination of:

1) The IP address the registration was coming from. They were unique, but generally tended to be in the same class C. E.g. 24.55.120.XXX (where XXX was the variable). Wasn't always the case though, so in that event....
2) The screen names he registered. I really can't put my finger on it, but when I saw a new user name come through it was usually easy to tell when it was him. Most other posters used stuff that was Bears related, so that made it a little easier to filter through.
3) The content / style of his posting. Sometimes he behaved for a few days, so you really couldn't tell. But after a week or so, he couldn't help himself and it was pretty easy to say "Yep, that's Panda again".
4) Other posters reporting

Ft has valuable discussion too. Combined they are just as annoying as Panda, fly, BB, etc etc. I'm sure there's poster who freakin dislike me too but it takes a village. If you adapt and don't hold a grudge over a battle of words the board is a treasure trove of entertainment.

Just yesterday FT gave me great running advice. I'd buy the guy a beer.

I just wish you guys were upfront with people about the whole "Packer fan" thing being a joke because the people you argue with have no reason to doubt it, and the whole argument (regardless of "who started it") derails too many threads. You could end it with "I'm not really a Packer fan. I did that to be funny."

I wish people were smart enough to not care about who someone else's favorite team is..or might be.

This may come as a shock to the CBMB members but you're not any more of a Bears fan simply because you hate the Packers.
