The rebuild process began the moment the Bears drafted Justin Fields, so they’re currently in year 2 of a rebuild. The beauty of the NFL is that you can rebuild a franchise in 3-4 seasons if you don’t take any short cuts.
From what we have seen so far, Poles doesn’t appear to be taking any short cuts, which means the Bears will begin to transition out of the “rebuild process” in 2023. Poles will have plenty of cap space to add talent and all of his draft picks to infuse young talent into the roster during Justin Fields “year 3” - which is typically the pivotal year when evaluating QBs.
As others have pointed out, you need to define what metric is used for defining when the “rebuild” is over, because everyone could view that differently. IMO, that’s a combination of having a winning record and Bill Polian’s “Blue-Chip” evaluation (10-12 high level difference makers)
