I haven't had mine yet. My buddies wife has to work today so they're gonna come over tomorrow for dinner. I watched football and a marathon of Alaska: The Last Frontier
7/10. A friend of mine, his wife and young son came in for Thanksgiving, so we had a good long visit last night. Oliver was initially cautious of me (that's understandable though-I was a stranger to him) but warmed up quickly, even giving me a hug when it was time for him to go night-night.
My dad and I were invited over to my brother-in-law's sister's house for dinner. His brother and other sisters were also there with their families. Thank God the kids were in the basement. Also got to see Joel's sister's baby in person for the first time .
Couldn't have asked for a better day -- got to hang out with family, watch football and eat good food. I've got my health, a roof over my head, two awesome cats, a truck that can drive upside-down, and you ridiculous hooligans to talk with.
Had family in town I hadn't seen in a while, my Aunt Kathy makes the best Pecan Pie I've ever had, turkey came out perfect and juicy and my mom made sicillian stuffing.
Oh and watching the Cowboys and Lions lose was also a nice cherry on top.
But as a product of divorce Thanksgiving and other major holidays are always split between different families. The tradition with my wife has been visiting her two families (also product of divorce) on Thanksgiving Day. It wasn't a bad day, and we actually watched football at the first stop which is unusual, in eleven years I want to say that is the third time it has happened.
But I had a Thanksgiving dinner with my Dad's side on Sunday and will be visiting my Mom on Saturday.
