My favorite teams
Okay, so I have an interview coming up. It would be a promotion within. Before I get into the question.... let me break it down.
I started fro the bottom a year ago. I reported to "Bill." Bill reported to "Jane." Jane reported to "Bob."
6 months in, I got promoted to the same position Bill has, but in a different department. Jane recently left, and now I'm applying for her job, which means I'd be Bill's boss.
I know for a fact that one of the questions will be, "Given that you were reporting to Bill just 6 months ago, how do you think you/he will handle you being the boss now?" Or some variation of that. Or maybe, what conversation I would have with him about now being his boss.
I've been going over answers in my head, but I can't think of anything solid. I've just never been in this situation. What I would really want to say is, "Bill should just man the **** up and do his job." But I don't think that would be appropriate.
