Well, looks like the good people in Ohio must watch the shadows in the neighborhood due to some nut job letting all his animals loose onto the city since he had legal troubles....then he killed himself. Guess, he wanted the Lions and Tigers to have one last meal.

I'm not exactly sure I get why the all had to be shot. this place looks to be int he middle of no where still... where were they "getting out" from and how far did they have to direct contact with humans?

I believe the explanation given was it was night and most of the animals were carnivorous and known potential man-eaters. I blame the jackass that set them free not the sheriff/police involved.

I grew up around cougars and bears. The only time they would bother people is when people were dumb enough to keep their trash out on their lawns. People don't know how to live around wild life..that shouldn't be the fault of the wild life itself. I always loved the old bat that lived across from me with the apple tree. She never cleaned up the falling apples in the fall months... and guess what bears love to do during the fall months? So she always called the animal control agency to have the bears in her yard shot. I hated that old ***** of a woman.



The easiest solution was always to kill the bear or cougar back home. the proper solution was simply to put them to sleep with the old tranq then port them. Or at least if they were going to kill the animal to use the animal for food or clothing or something rather than throwing it in the dump. Fucking pissed me off to no end.



As for this story cause it is obviously different. The guy who set them free was indeed a fucking jack ass. Like he didn't know that his beloved "pets" wouldn't be hunted down and killed. Fucking asshole.

The explanation for not using tranq darts was the animals would be able to runaway for a few minutes before fully sedated, it was night, and they were worried they couldn't find them. Tranq darts are also not an exact science and I doubt the local sheriff's department or animal control had enough darts or tranqs on hand to sedate 50+ carnivourus potential man-eating large predators.



Again you want to lay blame, lay it on the jack ass, that owned and caged them and then set them free or perhaps the state government that didn't regulate exotic pets well.



Even Jack Hanna defended the sheriff/police department.
