have a terrible offseason. I mean, I'm about as negative as they come but hear me out.

They fired a coach that did a decent job and that Rose/Noah liked. Who are they going to hire? The available coaches that are out there are all below .500 coaches for the most part. Vinny was .500 (not below). Do you really want Mo Cheeks or Avery Johnson? Jeff Van Gundy would be nice but he has no interest. So whoever they hire, unless it's Phil Jackson (not in a million years) is going to be a let down.

Then remember back to the last HUGE free agency summer? You know the one where we sent a guy to pick up T-Mac at the airport? What happened then? Oh yeah they wiffed. I have a sneaky suspicion that LBJ,Wade, Amare will all stay with their teams leaving Joe Johnson (choker in the playoffs) and Bosh. Bosh would be great but he's not coming to Chicago (most likely Miami with Wade).

They're probably going to offer max contracts to 2nd tier free agents making us slightly better in the short run but worse in long term.

So yes, while it's exciting to think about the "what-ifs" remember this is Chicago and Chicago is awful in general about having winning teams that make good moves (minus the Blackhawks to an extent).

However, if we did sign LBJ or Wade, I'd be the 1st to roll out the red carpet and purchase season tickets. I'd also eat crow and admit I was wrong, but I know that unfortunately I'll be right.

Bosh will go to whoever offers him the most money and a shot at a championship. Miami can't offer that IMO. That team would just be Wade and Bosh with no PG and Michael Beasley underachieving as usual.

The Vinny situation was a tricky one. The players seemed to really respect, and enjoy playing for him. But around the league, and in the media, VDN had 0 respect, which is something I'm sure would have hurt the Bulls summer.

Coaching in general is overrated. IMO, there are a few good coaches in every sport, a few bad ones, but for the most part, coaches are meaningless. Give Vinny MJ, Pippen, Rodman, Horace, Kobe, Shaq, etc, and he's probably walking around with 10 or so rings like Phil is. Give Phil this Bulls team for the past few years, and they probably finish at around .500.

I don't see the downside into going into the summer, without a coach. Why not use it as a recruiting chip, when talking with Bron, Wade, Bosh, etc?

Then remember back to the last HUGE free agency summer? You know the one where we sent a guy to pick up T-Mac at the airport? What happened then? Oh yeah they wiffed.

Completely different situation. The Bulls had cap-space, but nothing besides the city, to attract other free agents. Like KC Johnson has been writing, look at all the teams that have cap-space this summer, and then look at the Bulls. They clearly have the most talent, and best overall roster situation, out of any possible teams.

Unless LeBron wants to stay in Cleveland, he isn't going to find a more championship ready squad (with cap-space) then the Bulls.

Boozer is always hurt, *** sucks on defense and he may be re-signed by the Grizzlies

Yet, he's still one of the 7-8 best low-post players in the league. I'm not saying Boozer is my #1 option, but if we miss on Bron, Wade, etc, I would have no problems with him as a fallback option.

The bulls remind me of the cubs. Chris Bosh would be nice but that could be all we get.

Yeah, but I could easily see the Bulls bidding against themselves and signing him to a max deal. And the day that Carlos Boozer gets a max deal from the Bulls is the day I stop watching the Bulls, period.

Back in 2010, we had a team that just came off a 15(?) win season. This team just won 41 and we have a legitimate superstar on it. Miami might have d-Wade but we have a 21 year old pg version of Wade with an actual team around it. Vinny is not a good coach. This team had much more potential than 41 wins. As well, did you notice that as soonas Byron Scott left the hornets they fell off a cliff? That's because he's an excellent coach. Van gundy lead a weak team to the finals. Obviously better than vinny. In conclusion we're a team on the rise who can sign a great coach this offseason.

Read chicagosports.com today. People in the Queen's inner circle say Chicago is his #1 choice. And in 2000, this team had no talent at all, and they were 2 years removed from Jerry Krause destroying the dynasty

I think that Vinny shouldn't have been hired in the 1st place but you have to look at the hand he was dealt. He only won 41 games all year which isn't very good.

But the Bulls had a bunch of extended injuries (Noah, Gibson, Kirk, Deng, Rose at the start of the season). I would be my life on it that the Bulls would've won at least 4 or 5 during that 10 game losing streak at the end of the season if Noah was healthy.

And look at the roster he had for the 1st half of the season: Aaron Gray? Tim Thomas? No Ben Gordan (who I didn't like), Jerome James? Vinny got a raw deal.

Youncant say the worst players on a team and say hey got a raw deal. What if I said Phil Jackson had a Raw deal because he has dj mbenga, Sasha vujacic, Adam Morrison...but that's cuz the bottom of your team won't be good. That's why it's the bottom.

I know what you're saying but look at the any team left in the playoffs and their 1-12 is better than the Bulls. What was Vinny supposed to do? He made the playoffs each year granted with exactly a .500 record. But still as a rookie coach that is impressive.
