Garza's a beast. It's dumb we had to trade him. Maybe we will sign him when he's a FA...

I like Garza, but agreed we should trade him. And I am very happy with the package they got.

I understand he's not at the very top of baseball pitchers, but people started referring to him as a #3 at best, which I think is inaccurate.

I hope he goes all Rick Sutcliffe, and wins every time out for Texas. I would be perfectly OK seeing them win the WS, though I fear many Cub fans ramping up their criticism of the trade if that happens. But I don't see Garza's success rate with Texas making the deal better or worse for the Cubs. What matters to us is the success of the guys we got. Go Rangers.

Actually, if we trade Dempster and Garza and both pitch poorly in AL, it hurts future attempts to trade with them. Go Garza!

Garza being there is enough reason for me to cheer for them for 3 months

A win, 7 1/3 innings, and 0 earned runs in his debut tonight

I agree. With the Cubs most likely not going to the playoffs, I'll be rooting for the Rangers.

I would like to see the Rangers and Pirates in the world series.

Why would a Yankee fan want the Orioles to be in the playoffs

Because the rest of the division wins out non-divisional games while Boston loses every game they have left and Boston doesn't make the playoffs.

Count me in on the Rangers winning the Series. Have to admit the atmosphere was incredible last night. We really got a great get with Garza. We all have been really excited about it. He did not disappoint, nor did we expect him to be anything other than the beast he's been. He pitched lights-out. With him and Yu Darvish the rest of the way, just wow. We also have Harry (Matt Harrison - 18 game left handed winner last year) soon to finally return from DL, plus Ogando is back from DL stint, and Derek Holland, and even Colby Lewis possibly returning soon (still on DL all season), this pitching staff looks legit for contention. Martin Perez (lefty) has also pitched nicely. Ogando will prolly go to mid relief.

Just so extremely thrilled with Garza. Thank you Cubs! And thanks to all who wish Garza to do well with the Rangers.

Source: Me - 20 years of watching the Rangers almost every night.

I don't understand how that rubs it in the White Sox face. Let a past his prime catcher walk. He won't be a catcher in 3 years. On the other hand, the white Sox have three young (ish) catchers. So he might get another ring. Ooh that showed us.

Good for him if he does. Always loved that asshole.
