So a little backstory. There was a thread I started regarding sourdough bread. We I decided to take my now mature culture and tried to use some of it to make pizza dough. Anyways turned out very very good.

Dough IMO always makes the difference in the pizza

Dough recipe

1 cup of starter
1/4 oz of fast acting rising yeast
1/4 cup of sugar
2 cups of bread flour
1 tablespoon of kosher sea salt
2 table spoons of extra virgin olive oil

Mix and kneed for 10 min (You want the dough to be slightly sticky, not hard and dry)

rest for 20 min

Add 2 more tablespoons of the olive oil

kneed for 5-10 min

Proof in plastic container that will nest in another container that has some hot tap water(130 ish in it, Change water to fresh hot water every 15 min, proof for an hour

Roll out on floured surface until approximately 1/16 inch thick.

Lay on floured pan. I used pizza pan with holes in it, don't own a stone.

Coated dough on top with a little olive oil, added topping ( I did saute green peppers and onions 1st, this pizza will not take too long to cook)

Put pizza in 500 deg oven and cook until edges start to turn dark.

Pull out and let rest for 10 min...

Eat.

Seems like a lot of sugar. Not too sweet? Anyway I bet your starter gave a nice flavor. I make a lot of pizzas so maybe I'll try to grow a starter. I had a baking stone but it cracked so I now invert a baking pan. I also stretch the dough by hand instead of using a roller.

I will never understand why anyone ever would claim to have baked the best pizza ever when they didn't even ever put cheese on it. Seriously.

Papa Johns is the best pizza ever. Looking forward to maybe getting some for the games today. Maybe a nice Hawaiian BBQ because as everyone knows real pizza has pineapple on it.
