Play each other maybe 6 times a year instead of the once a year crap we have now.

Discuss.

If this were the case, people wouldn't be so against the Scott signing, haha!

I wish the Yotes were the Jets the Avs the Nords (but the Avs could still have an Avs team in Colorado just not the one they have now) and the Wild the North Stars (just name difference Dallas can still have a team) and Atlanta the Hartford Whalers. I also wish Mike Modano was never born. I also with the salary cap was non existant.

But low and behold the hockey gods like to screw me up the ass....or is that Bettman?

Regarding playing original 6 teams more? I like it the way it is to be honest. Maye a few more games against the Eastern teams. I find that playing against the same team too much actually doesn't create rivalry but boredom. Playoffs breed rivalries in my opinion. I mean unless you are a Leafs or Habs fan I get bored of watching them play against each other so much in a season. And I have actually heard some Leaf fans say that rivalry actually has lost some luster now that they play each other so much. Just as an example.

Stu I swear to god if you get a massive boner over Scott the way you did Niemi this last season you are getting ignored on my list lol. Niemi was acceptable because he had a decent season. Scott though? Come on man. Don't turn every thread into a discussion about that guy. Jerk off.

???

He'd be facing:

Boogaard 6x

Orr 6x

Lucic/Chara 6x

If the O6 teams played eachother 6x a year. That would make his signing even better.

On top of St Louis 6x + Flames 4x.

Just stating facts...

I'll make it impossible for him to type. Read only.

Jove I agree with you. At least 4 times for all, other than the Wangs 6. We could knock the Wangs back to 4 and I'd be happy too.

4 probably makes more sense than 6. Makes much more sense to play 2 or 3 more games against Toronto or Montreal than Florida or Tampa Bay or Carolina.

The Southern expansion of the league of the 90's took care of that.

I would guess O6 teams have a very good road attendance record, which the other 24 teams don't want to lose .

Games versus the Bruins and Rangers arent that big a deal for me; but the Leafs and Habs games are ones I love to witness.

No. I want to see the Hawks beat the Wings as many times as possible.

I'd like to see the league contract first before changing the amount of games.

24 teams would be nice.

Smoke another one while you're at it....................

They will add 2 teams eventually to make 4 divisions of 8 teams like the AHL.

Yeah I know it will never happen, but that would be ideal from the fans perspective. Of course from a business perspective its a laughable proposal.

The league won't contract, and the league won't change division match-ups to four games. It is what it is.

I agree with Ton, but unfortunately Maiden is correct, they won't be losing any teams, if anything Buttman will want to add 2 more.

If that's the case they you are going to see the talent among teams diluted and we'll have to put up with more teams like Atlanta, Columbus, Minnesota, Panthers whom have one or two skilled guys and everyone else is an AHLer.

I think 24 teams would be ideal...

2 Divisions - top 8 in each makes playoffs. Everybody plays everyone at least three times a year...
