I was looking at the Eastern conference standings and I was wondering what everyone thought as far as what the most ideal result would be.
(as of 3/25)
1. Chicago - 40-10
2. Miami - 35-12
3. Orlando - 31-18
4. Phi - 27-22
5. Atlanta - 30-20
6. Indiana - 28-19
7. Boston - 26-22
8. NY - 24-25
9. Mil - 22-26
First round -
I feel that ideally the Bucks would be the best first round match up for us. I know Monta has given us trouble while on the Warriors and it's basically the Bucks plus him, I just can't imagine this match up giving us that much trouble, which could allow Derrick/Rip time to get back in rhythm, if necessary.
However, I'm guessing the Knicks will end up with the eighth seed in spite of their hot/cold win/loss streaks. I'm confident we could beat them, I just imagine it could be more of a struggle. They still strike me as a team trying to find themselves and the playoffs don't seem like a good time for that.
I don't want to see the Celtics, although I'm also confident in a win here. Also, there would be a great feeling of coming full circle in such a battle as the classic 2009 series was the Bulls coming out party with Derrick at the helm.
Second round
This is where it gets a little more convoluted in trying to predict placement, but Atlanta strikes me as both ideal and practical. They seem to be a collectively incompetent team, but talented enough to knock out teams that for one reason or another present us with trouble (Sixers-size, Orlando-Dwight, Pacers-they're ass holes). Granted they took us to six games last year, I'm not particularly worried about them. They're more or less the same team except with Kirk and probably a less effective Teague. Although I would rather we didn't have to worry about Horford coming back. I would not want to see Orlando on the off chance they get hot from the three. And I would not want to see Indiana's particular brand of physical play given Rips condition. And despite the Sixers apparent inability to close games, they have a thing for beating us.
