First let me say I am not disrespectful troll, actually some who write on espn know me as pappa3p, and MANY of ur fans sent prayers concerning my granddaughter who was battling cancer, and for that I thank you!!!

My post is genuine in nature, as u guys have watched a dominate team be built in Chicago. I'm serious when I ask, what would u do if u were GM of the Blues? I've been a diehard note fan since the 70's, so many many many heartbreaks. Folks around the league see us as a top Stanley Cup contender, and I beg to differ. We have a sexy fast paced team that is built for the Presidents Cup NOT Sir Stanley. We don't have a shut down defensive pair, nor a typical 3rd line that skates against a top line. Our answer to teams top offense is simply offense. Who the hell is gonna be scared to play us in the postseason? The Hawks and Kings have wrote the blueprint on success, but our front office think they are smarter. Am I friggin wrong in my assesment? My fellow note fans are blinded by Tarasenko, and he's fun to watch, but I fear we are sooo focused on offense, we forgot defense wins in post season. Soooo I thought u guys could for one second give me ur perspective.

You probably won't get too much of a response. This forum only gets about 5 posts per day, less sometimes.</p>

I don't know enough about the blues team to really write an educated response... and even if I did, many would tell you it's not an educated response. This place has died down lately so tater is probably right, but it would be fun to see what RabidPlatypus would have to say as a felling blues fan.</p>

The Blues have let up one whole goal more than the Hawks have in the same amount of games played which is good for third best in the entire league. They are, and have been for the past few years now, one of the better defensive teams in the league. And they probably now have everything they need on the offensive side of things, not to mention making some decisions better than most teams have (including the Hawks) regarding goaltending.  The problem they have, and have had for some time, is that they still want to rely on trying to make the other team react to their stupid bullshit. Even now when they have the skill available to just play great hockey. But that's their identity that they've had for a while, and it'll continue to be part of why they fall short.</p>

I also fall into the boat where I don't know a lot about the workings of the Blues, but I can honestly say that last year when the Blues acquired Miller and Ott, I was asking why. I already thought the Blues had 3 strong goalies...Elliott struggles with injuries but Allen and Halak were pretty good "interchangeable parts."</p>

 </p>

The other thing that the Blues are good at is bringing a big bag of knuckles to the rink (and elbows, slashes, slew-foots and checks from behind)...so I really questioned why add Ott too. Maybe someone's eyes needed gouging out.</p>

 </p>

I guess I would be looking for a veteran leader who has "been there, done that."</p>

 </p>

I am not really referring to Marty Brodeur as he is not even a shell of his former self...but he has been there and may add an intangible.  I'd want a scorer who also backchecks and has been there. Hen's teeth are rare though.</p>

Or Elliot is hurt worse than they feared. Either way it's not like he's costing them anything to take a chance on him. He'll probably be bad, but he is behind one of the better defenses in the league, much like he had been sheltered in for over a decade in New Jersey, so we'll see what happens.</p>

I would suggest Jeremy Morin. We will trade him for Tarasenko, if you throw in a 4th round pick.</p>
