Football is a business, but it's also a culture and a brotherhood. Not one player would respect a quarterback who decided to quit on his team.

Its normal for players to hold out for contracts all the time and the players never fault then for it.. so him holding out for a new contract will not hurt him at all in the eyes of any player..

Or he goes on IR again no player is going to have a problem with injury

The only thing that can happen to mitch is that his stock goes up.
only if he goes out there and balls out like crazy.. and in the state of this team and the history of him playing you think that will happen? Much higher chance he plays like shit.. maybe even worse the Foles and there goes whatever small amount of "stock" he accumulated

If nagy decides to start him, and he even plays mediocre, some team might have hopes that they could redeem him outside this shit show.
He has already played mediocre with this shit show so how is more of the same going to help anything?

If he sits out like a little ***** he might not get an offer from anyone. People don't like quitters.

Going on IR or demanding a contract is not being a ***** they happen all the time

we are talking about what his agent is telling him he should do. I know thats difficult to understand with it being in the title of the thread and all but try to keep on track here
We are talking about what his agent would tell him to do if his agent was a random ?, I get that, and I'm saying this hypothetical agent is giving Special person advice that if taken, could likely result in having one less client.

If you were the agent of a draft bust you'd tell him to go out of his way to show he's not a team player even in a backup capacity? You are asking him to do this knowing his last chance at a job might be this offseason?

You are a horrible agent.

You seem to think that Mitch has leverage, and somehow by hiding from football that leverage is strengthened. I really dont get it, sorry. Can you explain it to me like I'm 4?

because right now his "bust" status has at least a little bit of doubt, So as his agent I tell him I'm going to try and sell you to another team and put all the blame on Nagy and Pace for creating such a shit show. As your agent the best thing for your career is to get you out of this shit show and onto another team so I'm going to push that you go on IR or we push for a contract extension that they will never give you.

you forgot to back you your claim on why its in Mitches best interest to play now vs going on IR or demand a new contract?

A marginal at best QB playing in the worst offense in the NFL will help his stock how exactly?

So bringing in questions about his character to hide the questions about his on field performance?

Anyway, I get it. You are mad at the Bears organization, but have very limited ability to do anything about it. You are hoping one of the players you like can make the Bears look bad, but you are understating what that specific player has to lose in those actions.

I never want to see Mitch play another down for the bears again, the last thing I want is Mitch to win a few more games. I want the Bears to not win a game again and clean house at the end of the year.
Mitch might end up being a ok QB on a better team but I don't care about Mitch at all. He had his shot and I have seen enough.

So wait, as his agent you dont care about him, and are more concerned with the bears' draft position, but you want him to sit out so they give him a contract? I'm confused now more than before lol

You see Pegger made a comment about me as a fan and I was replying as a fan and not the hypothetical agent. I understand that this can be very confusing especially for someone with your mental limitations. But I want you to understand that your doing a great job! Don't get down on yourself when you get lost and confused, plenty of people here can help out and get you back on track.

So don't worry about what me an pegger are talking about, You should just stick to the simple things like reading #45 and just reply to that post.

Imagine how many teams would be lining up to sign the guy too scared to play.

If you are mitch, you just have to have that "injury" hang around a little longer than expected....

I'm glad you gave up on the idea of being an agent.

I said it in another thread, but if I am his agent I am paying a doctor off to say he needs shoulder surgery, schedule him for a "scope" and shut it down. I wouldn't risk my career for Nagy or Pace behind this shit offense. The bears can go **** themselves.
That's a risky strategy as there is always a risk of complications from surgery ranging from mild scarring down the line to infection and even death. If he really needs surgery then yeah he benefits himself by doing it now. Or he can probably find a doctor who simply says he isn't healed enough to play. The team doctor can disagree but he has some cover if other teams want to question his willingness.

I actually hope he sits out the year and the Bears lose-out behind Bray. The sooner Pace & Nagy get flushed the sooner the offensive rebuild can get started.

you can't be a younger guy and dodge playing when you've underperformed to this point. if something like that got out it's a career ender. even if it were to make sense for a player (or fans).

at this point he has to play, helps a bit and he needs to hope he gets picked up as a backup somewhere. and our coaching staff has to, with our oline, figure out some way to not get him and the rbs killed.

tall task.
