I don't see how he couldn't. In fact, being a main cog in ending 2 franchises historic woes would probably go a long way towards cementing his status as God Like in MLB.

would Theo take on God like status in Chicago?

God like? No. But he would definitely cement his legacy as taking two long stretches of supposed "cursed baseball teams", and helped end those droughts.

He would be remembered forever.

Wow! Two posts from different people within two minutes, and nearly the same words said to the "T".

Plot twist: boo and I are actually the same person with split personalities.

That's the allure of why FA used to sign in Chicago. If the Cubs won a WS, they would be heroes for life. Theo accepted the challenge. With the core players who are coming online now, FA/Pitchers are going to come because they know it isn't just a pipe dream. I look at it this way. The 85 Bears are legends to Chicago/Bears fans 30 years later. The same will hold true for that first Cubs team members/Mgmt that brings the WS title to the North Side.

5 years 25 million dollar contract didn't hurt either when he was going to be out of a job within a year. Lol let's be real about that aspect as well

Lets also be real that Jason McLeod signed an extension rather than taking a GM position. That speaks volumes as well, and he must see something too.

If that were to happen can anyone comprehend what kind of reaction there would be in Chicago and among the Cub’s faithful worldwide? Looking at the response to the Blackhawks, Bears and Bulls when they won their Championships it boggles the mind to imagine what the reaction to a Cubs Championship would be. Let’s hope the prospects continue to pan out, stay fairly injury free and the FO gets some stud FAs to join in the next two years.

My true belief is a Cub’s Championship would signal the End of Days.

You gotta love the kids they have, you have to admire the rebuild of the whole organization. It's taken time but when you think about it, the Cubs would've still been losing even without Theo's rebuild. They're getting close to what he envisioned when he signed....could be as early as next year with the right FA signings. But....and with the Cubs there's always a but....after what I've witnessed through all these years( you don't even want to know how many), I just can't help thinking that something will happen to **** things up.
It always does....
