I think it would be pretty awesome if the MLB and NPB merged... then the NPB could move into Korea, Taiwan, Australia, and China (replacing the existing leagues there), as well as India, the Philippines, and Israel... after all, they did say that they even wanted to play some games in Africa. Eventually add some Mexico/Caribbean perhaps?

Completely unrealistic, but that would be a cool league to make into a game (Mogul couldn't handle that many teams unforunately).

The logistics would be crazy and you wouldn't be able to fit all the possible matchups into a 162-game or whatever season. Travel during intercontinental play would really screw up the players. But I'd like to see this happen in some form

Would probably have to get rid of interleague play, but it is a fun idea.

Replace Interleague with Interconference.... so the only Intercontinental outside of the Global Series would be Honolulu and Perth playing Asian teams.

I kinda wanted to put Europe in this too, but then again, they are really bad at baseball lol.

Maybe they could set up different tiers, like the European football leagues. If the teams are good, they stay at the top level. If not they are demoted. That might actually benefit the sport in the long run?

Promotion/Relegation is :turrible:, and I'm a soccer fan.

Honkbal Hoofdklasse, the "major league" in the Netherlands has a promotion/relegation system with the 3rd tier, while the 2nd tier is a regular minor league that has the same teams every year.

1. Honkbal Hoofdklasse
2. Honkbal Rookie League
3. Honkbal Overgangklasse (spelling?)

It is terrible for the owners of bad teams in major league sports, but that is about the only group that benefits from the closed league model of North American sports leagues. I would love to see that idea applied to professional sports here because it woudl take care of a lot of issues (giving more teams something to play for throughout the season, competitive balance, teams relocating/demanding huge amounts of public money to fund private stadiums, etc.).
