My favorite teams
Hypothetically speaking; If Hahn is promoted to GM and cleans house down to the coaches, EVERYONE is gone, who would YOU want in each of the major positions?
GM - Rick Hahn: Duh
Assistant GM - Omar Minaya: Minaya was the force behind the Los Mets and was the hand behind brining in good Latin talent such as Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, Moises Alou, Pedro Martinez, Fransisco "K-Rod" Rodriguez. Not to mention Minaya has developed a lot of the Mets good, young talent on the Mets roster today such as Jonathon Niese, Mike Pelfrey, Josh Thole, Dan Murphy, Lucas Duda, Dillon Gee, Ike Davis, as well as being a scout in central and southern America for the Rangers, Mets etc. Minaya as the assistant GM will help build a a farm that produces talent, which is something the White Sox haven't seen in a long time.
Manager - Bobby Valentin: The polor opposite of Ozzie, mild mannered, classy, smart and gets the most out of his players (see: the late 90's Mets)
Bench Coach - Carl Everett: Crazy Carl was a team leader during the championship year. He was vocal and, as some has suggested, a huge reason why the Sox weren't pwnd by the Twins that season. Having that in the coaching staff can only be a plus.
First Base - Kenny Lofton: Former White Sox who, in his heyday was a really good base stealer and should be sufficiant in helping players on the base paths
Third Base - Carlton Fisk: No real reason, former White Sox and has hinted as wanting a gig with either Chicago or Boston.
Pitching Coach - Rick Peterson: Peterson, aka "the Jacket", has been a pretty sucsessful pitching coach everywhere he's gone from Oakland to New York to Milwaukee, he's considered one of the best with Coop and Dave Duncan with his bio-mechanics degree and philospohy and has been a huge roll in developing Tim Hudson, Barry Zito, Mark Mulder, Dan Haren, Oliver Perez, John Maine, etc.
Hitting Coach - Robin Ventura: A genuine good hitter who's not Greg Walker.
