Here is another drummer you may not know but is arguable the greatest drummer that ever lived. Hal Blaine was party of the famous Wrecking Crew studio musicians that made many of the top songs of the 60s' In fact Blaine was on 5000 recordings in his life

Played in a frat band in college. We weren’t good but had fun and so did the people we played for almost every weekend and every Thursday night. Had a fuckin blast playing and some say I wasted my parents money (I did graduate in 4 years). I say I got every cents worth. Played the drums during practice on occasion and it was some of the most fun of my life. I sucked but gained appreciation. What I learned is music isn’t a competition. Doing so at a high level takes talent and a shit ton of practice. If you can make people dance and enjoy themselves it is an incredible experience. But it isn’t sports and you win if you make others happy. And if you do that it is an incredible reward. Oh, and chicks dig it.
