I've never had an article do me like that before.

Wonder if the Cubs can try to snag Haren without coughing up a draft pick. The news seems to be that the Angels will decline his option but that doesn't mean they won't try the qualifying offer trick.

It's possible, but I think it's unlikely that they move. I can see the Angel's making that qualifying offer to try and get a pick. IF that doesn't happen I think the Cubs would only sign him to trade him at the deadline.

Ditto with anyone else they sign in the offseason. A trade for a young arm though? That's a completely different discussion.

I don't think the Cubs have the assets currently to trade for a young arm that doesn't suck. They could try to use DeJesus or Soriano but I doubt there are any serious takers. They'd pretty much have to hope a few of these guys work out and then parlay them into more farmhands.

Yeah I agree, unfortunately. I still think the wild card is Garza, although I don't know who would trade for him in 2013.

My theory is the Dodgers. Billingsley MIGHT get Tommy John surgery. Still up in the air.

Might have the biggest, weirdest ass in baseball. Him, Marmol and Bastardo are all in that contest.

Y'know, I was watching the game yesterday when Marmol got some mop-up duty and kept thinking that Marmol had a huge ass.

Why are we staring at these guys' asses?

Because the Cubs suck right now...yeah that's still not a good reason.
