Why does everyone say this game is good...it looks BORING as hell

Team Fortress 2 should be a lot higher.

Its still one of the most popular games online.. after years.

One of my buddies played Plants vs Zombies, said it was addictive. I have no intention of playing it though.

This is a pretty questionable list overall. No MGS4, no Gears of War 2, no Uncharted 1, no Halo 3/ODST, no Dead Space 2, no Assassins Creed Brotherhood. They have Mario Kart DS but no Mario Kart Wii? Resistance 2 but no Resistance: Fall of Man?

Some huge questionable omissions.

100. Demons Souls- wayyyy too low. top 50 for sure.
97. Resistance 2- shouldn't even be on the list. Resistance: Fall of Man deserves to be on this list way ahead of R2.
95. Kirby's Epic Yarn- too low
93. Angry Birds- While it's fun, I wouldn't put it on a list like this
89. Dragon Age: Origins- not a fan, but it deserves to be here.
87. Killzone 2- deserves to be here, but no Killzone 3 on the list?
85. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light- just about right.
73. Flower - just about right.
64. Burnout Paradise- a little too low
50. Battlefield: Bad Company 2- just about right.
46. God of War 3- way too low
34. LittleBigPlanet 2- I'd have it in the top 25-30
22. Gears of War- a little high, I'd put Gears 2 ahead of it, but it's not even on the list.
19. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare- well deserved. sucks how much the series has fallen off from this.
18. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion- top 5 for sure for me.
16. Heavy Rain- another top 5 game.
11. Grand Theft Auto IV- hated this game, wouldn't have in my top 50, but in terms of sales, popularity and critic scores, it belongs this high.
9. Batman: Arkham Asylum- 15-20 range
8. Assassin's Creed II- wayyy too high. But I would put Brotherhood at this spot in a heartbeat.
7. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves- another top 5 for me, but this spot is about right.
6. Fallout 3- a little high. I'd put NV ahead of it.
5. Portal 2- a can see why it's here, but I wouldn't put it here.
3. Red Dead Redemption- Absolutely.
2. BioShock- no way it's this high.
1. Mass Effect 2- wouldn't be #1 for me, but it's worthy of this spot.

Plants vs. Zombies is a fun game. But probably not 23.
Same with Pac-man Champ. Edition DX. Fun as hell, but not 13th.

It wasn't nearly as good as the first Viva Pinata.

What do they mean by "modern" ? Since 2007? Since 2000?

This generation of consoles I'm assuming. 360, PC, PS3, DS, PSP.

I'd still like to know their reasoning for leaving out MGS4 though. Just seems odd of all the great games they left out, they leave out one of the biggest of this generation.

Maybe it's just IGN's way of stirring up trouble.

Greg Miller hates me and he is the sole reason MGS4 doesnt make the list. Seriously. I angered him so much that it convinced the entire IGN staff to not include the masterpeice known as MGS4. He is a Peace walker(its an amazing game) fanboy. The problem with this list is it ONLY includes 1 game from each series(which peace walker is apart of). IGN even says...."although MGS4 got a 10/10.....blah blah". They wont mention it. Greg miller likes MGS peace walker better. Therfore it gets the nod.

So Greg Miller is to blame I guess.

Personally I think it's stupid if they really picked just one game from each series. Picked the wrong one on a few games (MGS, Assassins Creed)

2010 FIFA World Cup: South Africa is way better, IMO.

I'm doing the full world cup mode with Albania (it was the first team in the alphabet) and am 2 games away from finishing atop my qualification group and advancing to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. My group includes Portugal, Denmark, (both qualified for the 2010 Cup in reality) Hungary, Sweden, and Malta. My only losses came to Portugal 1-0 (in Portugal) and Denmark 3-1 (in Denmark). My only draw came to Hungary 1-1 (in Hungary). My wins have been pretty massive, including a 3-0 win against Portugal the second time, a 4-0 win against Sweden, and a 7-0 win in Malta.

The game is just hard enough, but not unrealistically easy, or hard to the point where it's no longer fun. I'm not sure if it's quite top 100 material, but I could see it somewhere along the 90s range.

If your an international soccer fan, you should check it out. I hate how FIFA 11 only has 32 international teams, but has a boatload of seriously incognito club teams. 2010 FIFA World Cup: South Africa has 199 countries to choose from. It really is a great game.
