Not surprised at all. I'm surprised he didn't last season

Thought he would at least TRY this season with the new head in Rockford but it was probably inevitable

Wonders what is Russian for: Legend in his own mind.

Or maybe someone remind him that he isn't his father.

I've watched a bunch of highlights of him, and he sucked, sucked, and sucked, then he had one great tournament for the Russians, then he went back to sucking. Too bad it didn't pan out, but I won't lose any sleep over it.

Ice hog, yeah I saw some AMAZING highlights and went and red a bunch about him, and then they did an article on him in the red and black report and he apparently never did shit except one stretch where he went off in the world championships... When we drafted him I thought he was some underground superstar but all the scouting reports basically said "finally lived up to his potential after a crappy start to his career", and then he went right back in the shitter.

He was a Mike Smith-ov draft pick, wasn't he?

Just to clarify one point, his father is not the former soviet great, they are not related in any way,and that includes their play on the ice LOL

To be fair tho,he was at best a 3/4th liner on the Hawks.Given the plethora of talent available to the Hawks for those lines,he wasn't going to get a shot at the big club.It was quite obvious he had 2 choices.Either stay in Rockford making tens of thousands with no chance to play in the top league,or go home and play top league making hundreds of thousands TAX FREE !!

Seems like a no brainer to me! Would any of you do any different?

His departure will have the same effect Visnevsky's did.Not so much as a ripple in the pond.Too many talented prospects looking for playing time, the majority of whom are as good or better. He's already been replaced.
