Will he ever sniff the NHL or can we forget about him?

Pretty much nobody can say.. I'd expect this year of Rockford play to judge it. If he does great and earns a call up or plays good enough all year to earn a legit shot next camp then maybe he'll stick for it. After next year if he looks to not get a shot I think he'll head back to mother Russia.

I own an old Makarov 9mm semi and that's the only Makarov I'll see this year... I've given up on him.

It seems that all our guys have a little something off about them, which is I guess why they aren't on Madison.

Beach is a head case. Pirri can skate like a mother but he is about three dinners shy of even being called skinny. Olson is a big kid who doesn't seem to want to hit anyone.

I don't get it with Makarov. He had one decent tourney and a decent season and he is a tantalizing prospect who just can't get on a run and stay on it. I'm guessing he ends up shoveling snow in Siberia at the end of a mediocre career in the KHL. Sad but probably true.

Oh yeah, except for Kruger. I just can't shake the feeling that this kid is going to do something.

The thing with Makarov is he didn't get playing time. He almost left last year because of it. Also he was not use to the North American rinks. He came from the KHL where ice surfaces are usually bigger. He learned to use his size, speed, and strength along the boards and was very valuable at the end of the season. I expect him to have a big role in Rockford this year, hopefully he gets the chance to play top 6 minutes, he's really fun to watch.

the other thing you have to look at is how stacked the hawks are at defense...keith, seabs, montador are locked in for spots for 4 years (unless traded ofcourse), and with leddy and hammer here, spots are limited and we already have Lalonde and Olsen on the rise.

Really good problem to have for the hawks, but not good for Makarov
