Still no Rip?

This dude is just stealing money at this point. They will have no chemistry if he isn't getting out there playing.

He may play. He hasn't been ruled out and has been taking part in more contact drills lately.

Ugh Rip. I've been one of the ones quietly supporting him, thinking he'd be back by after all-star break completely rejuvenated. This is just ridiculous now, get your ass suited up. These aren't complex injuries he suffered either, his body is taking it's damn good time healing up. The reports are that he's questionable for the Hornets game, and that Thibs isn't going to rush Rip, and when Rip does make his return, he's going to be eased into the rotation. So don't expect to see the real Rip for awhile still. :pity:

And this is the best thing to happen. He is not 22 years old.So the organization must do what needed to have him healthy in the playoffs. No rush there..As for the chemistry as long as he participates in practices we won't have chemistry problems

That line worked for the first few weeks, it's past the all-star break now, it's time to get serious. The playoffs will be here sooner than people seem to think, we've already sacrificed significant time due to the lockout, Rip's gotta get in sync with these guys. And to be clear I'm not as much worried, as I am frustrated to be hearing the same thing over and over again. Ball movement has been excellent when Rip's out there and it'll only get better with time, Ronnie needs to go back to his role with the bench mob anyways.

I'm with you, Cloud. I've been more than patient with Rip for the first half of the season. He's only played in 11 games so far and who knows how long he'll be able to play until he misses more time. At this point, I almost wish we could get a refund on the deal and go back and sign Afflalo or Nick Young, two guys I wanted over Rip in the first place.

Those two were restrictive free agents, their teams likely would have matched any offer unless we vastly overpaid.

That's true, but seeing how the Rip deal has gone so far, it may have been worth it. They're both younger and Young is lighting it up this year in Washington. Afflalo is starting to do the same in Denver.

I am sure he will be ready when we need him.All teams must do everything to keep the roster healthy this year.

We're paying Rip $5 million a year..If we offered that same money to either, I'm sure it would have been matched. We may have had to go up to 8 million/year or more. Afflalo got a 5 year deal that pays him 7.5 million a year...Nick Young only got the qualifying offer, but it was said if there was an offer to him from another team, the Wizards would have likely matched it.

I just don't think it would have happened. I would have preferred either one of them, but oh well. If Rip is healthy the rest of the year whenever he does return, then I won't complain, if he can't stay on the court during March and April then its a pretty lost cause.

I just want him out on the court. Tired of the Bulls playing short-handed every night. It's gotten old fast.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
The offense has looked a lot better with Rip out there, but I wouldn't want him to come play for 5 games then reaggrevate the injury. When he plays I want him to be as close to 100% as possible.

Hamilton has been going in and out of the lineup for the past three seasons for various injuries and reasons. Him being out isn't a surprise to me. The team has found their groove without him. He needs to get on the same page with everyone else fast because now the team is in mid-season form and he is not.

I mean how long does it take to heal a pulled groin and a bruised thigh, even at his age? Nowhere near the amount of time he's been out. Imagine if he were to actually tear a ligament or do serious damage. We'd be swallowing $5 Million that's forsure.

Don't get me wrong, I love what Rip brings to this team. Who's better at running off screens then Rip? That's going to be a real ***** for Wade to keep up with, just like it was earlier this season. And his passing skills really add another element to the offense, I get excited just thinking about that. But it's just frustrating to have to depend on Brewer at the 2, when we've payed Rip to be that guy. Rip being injured messes with the starting rotation's chemistry, as well as the bench mob's chemistry. I'm sure he'll end up winning us all over, but it's hard to stay so positive on a player that's past his prime, dealing with injuries and now eating up cap space.
