James Russell, LHP

Stats
1-3, 8.31 ERA
Russell has been a spot starter and reliever during the first month of the season, starting three times in his seven appearances. His last two appearances were starts. He combined to allow eight earned runs on 12 hits, six homers.

Clayton Kershaw, LHP

Stats
2-3, 3.52 ERA
Kershaw has allowed five homers in six starts. He served up 13 last year in 32 starts, and only seven in 30 starts in '09. In his last start, he pitched efficiently until the sixth, when he walked a pair of Fish, giving him 15 walks in 38 1/3 frames.

Ryan Dempster, RHP

Stats
1-3, 9.58 ERA
Dempster had the worst start of his career in a loss vs. the D-backs on Thursday. He faced 10 batters and got one out, allowing seven runs on four hits with four walks. He also hit a batter and allowed a grand slam.

Chad Billingsley, RHP

Stats
2-1, 4.46 ERA
Billingsley gave up just one earned run in 6 1/3 innings on April 22. He struck out three, but also walked three batters, and walked three more in his last start. Walks have a problem this year -- he's issued at least two in five of his six startsn

Carlos Zambrano, RHP

Stats
3-1, 4.91 ERA
Big Z is 11-1 in his past 17 starts, dating back to last August. On Friday vs. the D-backs, he won for the third time by settling down after allowing a first-inning, two-run homer to Justin Upton.

Ted Lilly, LHP

Stats
2-2, 4.45 ERA
Lilly responded from a tough outing in Chicago (11 hits and five runs in 4 1/3 innings) to hold the Padres to one run on five hits his last time out. Lilly also struck out four batters to pick up his second win of the year.

Cubs win one. Probably the Zambrano game. History has shown us that Dempster won't win a game this year and Russell should probably just be taken out back and shot like an injured horse.

I'll say we win two..

Russell pulls it together and Dempster gets his head out of his ass.

Castro finally back to the leadoff role.

Time to send Colvin down and bring up Perez.

Cubs win 1 game

I'm actually debating even watching tonight's game. If the Cubs don't score 12 runs in the top of the 1st to give themselves a chance, I'm watching something else.

My god that would be awful.

I don't think so. If Colvin is never gona start, get him at-bats in the minors to get work in. Because it's a waste to have him and not playing. He'll never get out of his slump if he doesn't play.

I said Perez because he will be a good pinch runner to maybe steal games. Colvin doesn't have speed, well at least a lot. So, that's my reasoning.

But Colvin is a better hitter and probably a better fielder. And more versatile. I would rather have Perez not get playing timer over Colvin.

Castro, Barney, Byrd, Rami, Pena, Fonzie, Soto, Johnson, Russell.

It's this or close. Maybe switch Pena and Fonzie but I'm not sure. Trying to go off memory.

I was still close, trying to go off memory that I saw a few hrs before and just look to see where Castro is and who's in lineup. Just a switch of Pena and Soto.
