Johnson is not an elite defenseman. Solid but not elite.
Also, if you consider Stewart and Shattenkirk "nothing" then you are grossly underrating both of them.
Peter Stastny ripped the trade that Colorado made when it took place, and for good reason.

Should be a great game. Colorado is rolling and our offense is rolling. I'm still not impressed with our defense, especially in front of the net, but Phoenix was a good start!
