I don't care what some of the CCS expertz say here ^^^, which is nothing, I like what's going on for the Bulls. A lot of people were expecting the Bulls to flounder on defense cuz Thibs is gone ... I don't see that. I think they are actually better statistically at this point.
They are just starting to figure out what they are doing on offense, which is what Fred is known for. Dunn's been out all year, Rose is still probably seeing double, and we've had a couple of injuries. The Bulls are just hangin around while they figure all this out as well.
The way I see it, GS and SA are the two elite teams so far. I think the Bulls can play with any of the rest depending on how things play out. I love the early development of Portis! Imo, he opens up the door to a mid season trade for the Bulls.
I also Love that the Bulls showed rumors of being open to such a trade to bring in another wing player. Let's face it, the Cavs, GS, and other top teams have killed the Bulls with the small ball lineups. I still don't think Thibs realizes how to combat a small ball lineup myself. Certainly not by playing two bigs and having one of them distribute the ball from the top of the key.
Another top wing player added to this lineup w/o losing too much would allow the Bulls to compete against these elite small ball teams, imo.
Anyhow, I'll just keep watching while the usuals bash Rose, bash GarPax, and all the other silly stuff, and we'll see what happens. But to the people keeping an open mind about the Bulls and their new changes, I say it's looking good!
