What a load of crap that article is.

Two things, #1 there is no date for the article (ummm, sales tax increase this year of 67%).

#2 F'n State of Chicago publishes an unheard "columnist" on the state website??? Who would buy into that crap?

The worst states fro retirement are all high taxing, big government states on the brink of bankruptcy. Thank you lieberals for proving once agin just how bankrupt your political philosophy of high taxes and big government are.

Worst States for Retirement

1) Illinois: Poor fiscal health

2) California: Expensive cost of living, and its finances are in disarray

3) New York: Very high taxes, including property taxes

4) Rhode Island: Worst-off state in the Northeast from a financial viewpoint; high taxes

5) New Jersey: Highest property taxes in the United States; has pension funding issues

6) Ohio: High unemployment and cold winters

7) Wisconsin: High property taxes, constantly whining public union employees, and frigid weather

8) Massachusetts: High cost of living and high property taxes

9) Connecticut: Taxes Social Security and has high property taxes

10) Nevada: Foreclosure capital of the world, and the worst lying political hack for a senator...Hairy Reed

The best states? Low taxing, traditionally libertarian states in the South and non-California/Nevada West.

IHF, that was income tax, not sales tax hike.

Sales tax is even worse. As it at least at one time this year was the countries highest in Chicago at about 12% for certain purchases.

Ah ****, here we go again. No big Government UNLESS it's to deny workers rights, environmnental concern, *** rights....

So basically your point is make your money in a state were there are decent wages, then move to a state when you retire where wages and taxes are lower and talk about how great the other state is now that it's shit worker's rights don't effect you. GENIUS! I'd like to see how these low taxing southern states would do without tax money from the evil big government high taxing northern states being given to them yearly.

Is it time to stop with this "67% tax hike" talk and call it what it really is, a 2% increase from 3% to 5% I know that's techically 67% bump from 3-5, but we just use the 67% number to make it sound scarier than it is.
