The same situation applies with the made field goal though, just with slightly better field position for the Bucs. And if you get the stop, you’re going for the win and not the tie. Plus, it’s fair to say most coaches (obviously not Arians) would be more conservative in their playcalling trying to protect a 5 pt lead and just run the ball 3 times. If GB had tied it, it (theoretically) opens up the playbook more for Tampa to just play for the field goal and the win with two minutes and effectively four timeouts left.
I’m not saying I agree with the decision by LaFleur, but the logic isn’t as terrible as most people are projecting.

if they took the extra point instead of going for 2 and not converting that totally changes some dynamics too. just a touchdown would've tied it for OT.
