I don't usually watch this stuff, but I had to keep this channel on for storm warnings. Does anybody know what they mean by Push to pass button or something like that? It said they get like 17.

I don't watch racing either so I'm not sure what that means. I did hear there are 4 women in the race this year. I thought that was interesting.

It is a button (literally) that they can push that gains them some extra horsepower/rpms, that they can use to pass another car, lasts for like 10-20 seconds.

I have never been to Indy, have been to daytona, bristol, richmond, dover and live not very far from talladega.

No, its nothing like nitrous portrayed terribly in those movies.



Current irl cars are normally aspirated so all it does is bump the rev limiter and inject a little more fuel.



Next year they go back to smaller twin turbo lumps (yay!) so pushing the button will just let them run a few more pounds of boost. The effect will be more significant then.

feel bad for the rook, I can understand Wheldon's excitement but as a fan I kept thinking "You won because he fucked up, he was the better car, you won but you didn't earn it"

I was amazed by how careless some of these guys were. I saw at least two where they left before their tires were on right and they had a tire fly off.

If their crew tells them to go, they dont ask questions they go. they cant see the rear tire changers.
