Anyone have one and/or gotten one surgically repaired? They suck but doctors always told me getting it fixed isn’t worth it since it may reoccur

Is that just a normal hernia? If so I've had two repairs, one on each side. Surgery was easy and I've had no recurrence.

You cant poop for a few days but it's not bad outside of that.

I guess there are multiple types of hernia but this one is down near your groin.

Most breaks heal in 3 weeks. Why are you a fucking asshole all of the time? Doesn't earn you internet points. Get a woman and have fun.

I have had two. If done right, they heal quickly and it is relatively pain free; especially if done laparoscopically. I had laparoscopic and it was perfect. The open surgery did not have the same result. Long story but the dr fucked it up. I would never have agreed to the procedure if I knew how much it hurt. Had to call for more pain meds twice. Could not sit upright for days. I could lay down or stand up but not sit and that included driving. He told me it would be laparoscopic but ended up doing it open. I would not allow them to use staples, either, which was a large part of the pain issue.

Get the surgery but carefully research your surgeon. If you don’t like something about the dr or procedure do not be afraid to tell them no and find another doc. Have a witness in with you when you discuss the procedure with your doc. Also had a belly button hernia repair and that went fine. Again, good doc.

Cannot speak to that particular injury, but my personal injuries, aches and pains all greatly improved right when I started using CBD oil.

I had one. I used to push it back in after lifting. The problem was that if the intestine that is coming out gets TWISTED you can need immediate surgery. After I found this out I started worrying about my regularity in the morning.

I had the surgery and had never been put under before. It went perfect. They put this mesh in and then your body fills in with scar tissue inside to make the patch stay. It can occur again but when done correctly is highly unlikely. You are more likely to do the other side.

Get the surgery. You will be fine and the recovery is not much time. I was really careful about the surgical site and went to the post office the next day. I wouldn't recommend that but I was snail slow getting in and out of my car and used my upper body exclusively. I drive an automatic now and just had to use my right foot ( Surgery was on the left side )

.....hahaha if Anybody wants to know about Total Hip Replacement, pain in your hips, and arthritis ... ask away. I am totally recovered and have had a wonderful journey of newfound health from the rehabbing

I had an inguinal hernia repaired a few years ago. Prior to that I walked around with it for over 20 years.

A chest cold with uncontrollable coughing finally did me in. In hindsight I would have gotten it fixed right away as it got progressively worse to the point where it was close to an emergency surgical fix. Also, because it got larger and larger, I had to get the traditional open (4" belt-line incision) vs. the much more common laparoscopic procedure they do now. The difference is 2 weeks off of work vs. 2 days.

The general surgeon told me I was the poster boy for how not to treat a hernia. I literally went from a ping pong ball to tennis ball sized protrusion... and because I had to get the zipper job, I also had complications that usually don't come with laparoscopy... things like bruising from nipple to knee and a nice large incision site seroma.

Long-term, I've had no problems other than an occasional bit of numbness around the upper groin area due to a procedure they did (ilioinguinal neurectomy) to avoid nerve entrapment with the mesh.

I asked the surgeon about recurrence and he told me it's less than 10%. I do a lot of heavy lifting... you just have to be smart about lifting and know your limitations. So, my advice... don't let your ballsack get stretched. Get a 2nd opinion or get-er-done. My 78 year-old father in law just got a lap inguinal done and he was up on his feet a day later.

Can't get one from working out if you don't work out.

It is very possible to aggrevate a pre-existing hernia (that you might not even know you had) doing almost anything. My second one rearedits ugly head playing golf. 9 iron to be specific.
