I was one of the assholes that broke amazon on prime day trying to buy an instant pot. And now that I have one, I’m looking for some favorite recipes. What say you? Any tried and true recipes? What about wing and a prayer experiments that turned out awesome?

Just cooked some boneless pork ribs in the instant pot. Dry rubbed them and added some Sweet Baby Ray’s on top then cooked for 45 minutes. They came out super tender, they were more like chunks of unpulled pork and were delicious. Can’t wait til the next meal

I've done pulled pork. I forget the exact recipe, but layered some onions on bottom then added the shoulder roast cut in big chunks on top with some bbq sauce. Came out tender as hell, and all the fat was rendered to the bottom near the onions. Good stuff.

Pulled pork is definitely something we will be doing.

I think I created a monster. After the boneless rib success, my wife joined a couple of instant pot facebag groups. We also found several recipes to make this week and spent a million dollars at Costco on all the ingredients.

Dang! Ask her to cook with it everyday for like 2 weeks then maybe she'll get sick of it? :smug2:

No, I don’t want her to get sick of it.

We made applesauce and chicken enchilada casserole last night.

The applesauce took 10 minutes once up to temp. It took the same amount of time to peel and chop the apples as it took to cook. We used to make applesauce in the crockpot that took a few hours so that’s awesome. And it was delicious

The enchilada casserole took 30 minutes, start to finish. This included opening it up to add a few fistfuls of cheese at the end. Awesome

We've always bought applesauce from the store. I'll have to try making some one of these days. Could they be made in a convection toaster oven or crock pot?

No idea about making it in a toaster oven, I’m sure you could make it work if you really wanted to. We made it in our crockpot lots of times but it takes a lot longer, like at least an hour for the same amount we made last night

I cast iron cook a lot in the oven. I love well seasoned cast iron cookware... will last three lifetimes if cared for... Best non-stick surface ever.
I also do a lot in crockpots... not familiar with pressure cooking so appreciate this thread. I may keep my eye out for one and give it a run.

I love my cast iron too and got one of my grandmothers cast iron pans when she passed away several years ago. It’s still going strong with no signs of slowing down.

We have two crockpots that we use all the time, but that may change. Our friends that have an instant pot have all gotten rid of their crockpots because everything they used to do with a crockpot can be done as good/better and finished much quicker in an instant pot.

My parents are in town to see their newest grandson and we fired up the instant pot for dinner. Nothing special because my dad eats just like a picky toddler, it’s annoying as ****. I browned some ground beef in olive oil and garlic on the sauté setting then added the rest of the ingredients and set the instant pot to 10 minutes on high pressure. It was great and something that everyone would eat. And we have plenty of leftovers

Crockpot is slow and makes the house smell good all day. Love cast iron skillet. Great steaks when the wind is too high to grill. Great way to make pizza.
