Piggybacking off my other thread - what do you all know about iPads? What's the difference between the three options? Which would you consider most cost-effective? How many cups of sugar does it take to get to the moon?

I've heard the droid pads just aren't as good...from people that's had both -- but I've never really played around w/ either extensively. :shrug:

The iPad2+ is good(Mini is underwhelming, may as well buy a Nexus). The one issue is, if you have small kids around, don't give them any iPad, and let the iPad babysit them. I know, sacrilege for Apple fanboys to hear. The digitizer is made of real glass(the part that you touch), and when they break, they shatter into super sharp pieces.

Yeah, we don't have kids - but we both teach -- so we'd like to be able to utilize an iPad in our classrooms -- albeit with us being in control.

Seems like a pretty decent price, though I'm not sure on the differences between iOS4/5/6...

It's okay. $400 is the norm for an iPad2 16GB.

The differences are subtle for the most part between iOSes. For an iPad you want 6+. It's basically just an oversized iPhone(with a weaker camera), so if you use an iPhone, it's going to be familiar to you.

New nexus 7 was announced today. It smashes and jizzes on the iPad mini. If you want something larger though then go with an iPad.
