Thoughts?

I've never thought of cereal as soup, but I can definitely see it. Both require you to spoon a liquid into your mouth. I think the deciding factor could be the temperature aspect but there are cold soups so therefore, cereal is just soup.

I don't think of it as soup.

1.
a liquid dish, typically made by boiling meat, fish, or vegetables, etc., in stock or water.

^^ Not soup.

2.
a substance or mixture perceived to resemble soup in appearance or consistency.

^^ Possibly soup.

Is a hotdog a sandwich? I'm perplexed by both.

If vichyssoise can be considered a soup, then just about anything can...

And, yes, hotdogs are definitely sandwiches.

Yep, it meets the qualifications of definition 2.

Glad that's settled.

Tremendously
Being a liquid, water is not itself wet, but can make other solid materials wet.

Wetness is the ability of a liquid to adhere to the surface of a solid, so when we say that something is wet, we mean that the liquid is sticking to the surface of a material.

But does that make water dry?

Wet has several meanings, and can also be used as a noun. I appreciate your want to be clever though.

A hot dog becomes a sandwich once you put it on a bun. A cereal becomes a soup never.

I mean, they don't give you those fancy cocktail sticks through the premium McDonald's bun. Is that a requirement?

Without the sticks, not a club.
