to want to be entertained. The Bear have been an abysmal watch for 2 years now. The record is the what it is but the lack of splash plays, the passive mentality, mediocrity and just poor play and play calling on both sides is just frustrating, feeling like we're not in games and lucky when we win.

Honestly, I'm less worried about record in this year difficult schedule than actually looking/being competitive in every game. I want more but but dutifully watching games while getting bored and a little angry is getting old so I'll settle. It would almost be better if they were absolute shit with some comedy but boring, teasing incompetency needs to end.

At least we're not the Lions.:p

I'm ready to see the Bears beat teams by 17+ points which hasn't happened much over the last however many years because we get so conservative and put the pressure on our defense when we get up by a TD. Hopefully Fields is that guy they let keep playing even when we're up in games.

I hear ya.

At this point I just want the games to be entertaining. They've been sooo boring for 2 years. But like you, I stay glued to the screen. I've read others say they switch to RedZone.

My tv only goes off the red zone channel for the Bears game. I do love the red zone channel for fantasy purposes.

Difficult to believe that you're a Fantasy fanatic and don't go to that Red Zone during breaks.

I definitely think we need to be entertained.

At least with a potential franchise quarterback waiting in the wings, I do think we will be entertained.

Just be careful what you wish for.

Because sometimes even bad football can be entertaining.

Dan Bernstein on wscr calls it fun bad.

Like I remember the epitome of fun bad was a game the Bears played against the Rams back in the days of Cutler throwing the Johnny Knox.

The Bears had something like eight or nine straight possessions where there was a penalty and they were moving backwards. Even the commentator said the Bears had mastered the reverse offense. And then on 1st and forever or whatever down it was, Cutler throws a bomb to Johnny Knox for a first down.

I don't even remember if the Bears won or lost that game but the way they played was so obnoxiously bad and stilted it was in its own way hilarious.

So just be careful about just wanting to be entertained because there's plenty of ways to be entertained during the football game and not all of them are good!

For this season, the impact player Pace added was Fields, and he's not going to start right away.

I have no idea why ppl think the offense will be better this year. It only has a chance when Fields is ready to go, otherwise it's the same. Guys like Byrd and Goodwin are not going to have a huge impact.

Some posters are going to have to be reminded how inept Nagy is the first few weeks. Get ready for the same ol' shit.

Can’t remember the last time Bears put a decent team in a passing situation.

I tend to disagree. They along with a more integrated Kmet will need to be accounted for which will free up AR and Mooney... if the OL is viable. I also liked Newsome for the slot before the ding. He dropped due to combine testing but he plays a lot faster than he tested.

Well i'm not a big Nagy fan but i do think Goodwion will have his big plays, but i don't see any other WR besides ARob and Mooney being consistent, but as long as those two are consistent and we get our TE's and running game involved then that's fine by me with the occasional big plays to Goodwin and Byrd. Gotta stick with the run this year though.

Kmet and Mooney have to step up BIGLY.

Counting on Dazz, even before the injury, is laughable.

I wasn't counting on Dazz in a Bigly fashion but he's a natural in the slot and punt returns in a Wiggly kinda way. Doesn't mean he can play in the pros like most rookies but he's got quicks and deception even if not the outright speed. A feel for getting space on time. Might be too slow to pull it off in the pros but I suspect he'll acclimate.

Kmet stepping up would be a natural progression for a TE that belongs. We'll have to wait and see if that's the case but lots of the top TEs had similar rookie years.

I remember a few years ago where, right before halftime, Nagy called a timeout while the Giants were just trying run out the clock on a third down. The Bears allowed a huge run for a first down.

That caused the Bears to put the Giants in a passing situation ... and they scored.

Then again, the Giants weren't a decent team that year. I believe the Giants also won that game.

Now that memory might only be my Old-timer's disease.

I just want to see the Bears beat a good team. Nagy has 3 quality wins in 3 seasons. That’s fucking pathetic.

Watching games where the team scores <10 points in the first 50 minutes of a game is brutal. Losses suck anyways, but it feels so much worse when the team didnt even show up with an NFL offense outside of the garbage time TD to make it only a 2 possession game in the last 3 minutes.
