IS there a strike zone advantage for the Mets?

Yes we got screwed last night and it was a contributing factor. The third strike called against Fowler was a ball. He should have been on base when Schwarber hit the HR.

Later Denorfia was called out on a ball before Fowler hit the double. He could have scored on it. That would have been two runs we got screwed out of.

But unfortunately the ump wasn't responsible for Kris Bryant sucking. Or Montero's horrific play. Or Schwarber's error. Or Baez's error.

This is Rizzo's first time in the post-season. He had an epic year and he's never played this long in a season before. Let's give the youngster's a break -- this year was nothing short of amazing.

The playoff experience was invaluable and the era is just beginning. Teams starting four rookies don't typically make the NLCS.

I guess someone will have to explain to me what is different between pitching and hitting in the season vs the post season.

Are the pitches faster now? Curve more?

Cubs were the worst BA in the league on pitches over 95mph. There's nothing different here other than that the Mets have 4 guys that pump it at 95+

No he did not. He was better last year with less talent around him.
That's no slight to Rizzo. Just your overuse of EPIC.

He was an MVP candidate and easily one of the best players in the NL.

Yes, it was EPIC.

The umps called the strike zone the same for both teams for the most part. That said yes it worked out in the Mets favor as a larger strike zone favors pitching, and it pretty much ruined our "be patient and get walks" strategy. On the other side of it our pitchers were not able to take advantage of it. You combine all that and yes it worked to the Mets advantage, but no they weren't purposely calling it that way just for the Mets.

First off, Rizzo was the best player on the 3rd best team in all baseball. Yes, he was an MVP candidate. Harper is a better player with better numbers so should he get the MVP? Yes. But the Nationals were a colossal disappointment and MVP stands for Most Valuable Player. How good would the Cubs be with out Rizzo? 97 wins and a trip to the NLCS? Not happening. With out Harper the Nationals would be the same thing -- a disappointment.

So to brush off Rizzo's importance to our team is not fair to him. He had an EPIC year.

You have a very open definition of EPIC. So open that there are loads of EPIC players in the NL alone.

You should ask Andre Dawson to give his MVP trophy back.
