I guess I'd like to hear Mitch say....he's gonna fight back and prove the benching was wrong. Maybe I expect to much

Well, you have to realize it's coming from a guy who saI'd he's going to be the best QB he can be for this team. You'd love a guy to say that he wants to be great. He set the bar low for himself it seems.

I think that would kind of undermine Nagy and the coaches. What he can do is feel that way and say he will be ready to play when he is called on. If he starts yapping he will be traded for bread crumbs and a diet cola.

yes he's done. Foles winning was good but by the end of the year, we'll all be ready to move on from him as well

Not the end of his NFL career. Probably the end of his career as a "starter" (outside of major injuries to the guy(s) ahead of him on the depth chart on current and future teams). Very likely the beginning of the end of his career with the Bears - he had to really wow the team to win his future here back, and getting benched by week 3 probably means thats all but impossible at this point.

This is the type of year where I can see a couple of quarterback changes in the middle of the year because of futility. I hope Foles can keep some of his Philly magic, but this is a new team, and despite the fact that he's a superbowl champ, he's never been known anything more than competent throughout his career. He could turn around next week and play like crap.

I'm hopeful he'll remain good enough, but I'm not ignoring the possibility that we'll see some bad Nick Foles at some point throughout this season too.

I'd be surprised if Trubisky is back next year, either way.

I don't think you can go back to Trubisky unless Foles lays an egg a few games in a row, or gets hurt. And Foles has never played 16 games before. So please stay healthy, Nick.

Trubisky has had a ton of chances. Sometimes he's delivered, sometimes he hasn't. Sometimes isn't good enough to be a real contender in the NFL. And that's the reality of it. Unless Foles absolutely balls out and we are 100% sure that he's the guy going forward for the next few years, we should be drafting the heir apparent in the next draft. Based on Foles' injury history, we should probably be doing that anyway.

In 44 starts by Trubisky entering Sunday, playoffs included, the Bears had scored two offensive touchdowns 23 times. The offense accounted for more than 20 points only 15 times, and Trubisky had thrown for 300 or more yards — hardly the benchmark it once was — only seven times.

In short, no.

Mitch could actually be starting for us some point this year. Only week 3 and Foles could get hurt or just be awful

Mitch will be in Tampa next, Tennessee or maybe New Orleans as a backup. His career as a starter is done in Chicago

NFL defenses have the most gifted athletes on the planet. Coached by brilliant minds. Given a budget of millions to stop Trubisky. I assure you, his inability to run an efficient offense for four quarters is not because he set a low bar for himself. He's an amazing QB with primarily one major flaw.

Chicago Bears bench Mitchell Trubisky for Nick Foles against ...Atlanta Falcons

"The situation sucked, but it was just the flow of the game and how it happened and coach made the decision that he felt was best for the team," Trubisky said of getting benched. "I'm really happy for this team. They battled back and it was awesome to get a W, but it sucks to get news like that."
Mitch just doesnt have "it". He is not and will never be the guy. He is in his 4th year and is still not processing things quick enough. Thats a huge problem and something you just cant fix. You watch the better qbs around the league and they are making reads in a split second and seeing things open up before they actually do. Mitch does not do this. The difference in the offence today was glaringly obvious. Its not the Oline, its not the recievers, its not the playcalling and its not the opponent. Its Mitch. He stinks. End of story. Hes our Mark Sanchez.

There is no way he will be worse than Mitch but i agree injury is a major concern. I think its a given that Mitch will play again at some point this season but lets just hope its just a game or two and not something permanent.

I agree, great time for him to decompress, evaluate and learn from Foles what he is seeing in his decision process.

Get ready to be the best QB he can be for this team at any time.
Karma is a funny *****. If Foles puts this team into the playoffs...it could always be Mitch that has to drive it home. Be ready.

I’ll happily eat crow if he can play like this most of the time. I just didn’t think he’d work with this squad. I’m looking wrong so far. I‘m sure some of it was Atlanta, but he was legit even with their implosion.

I‘m just always wary of guys like him who don’t move that well. We’ll see. He makes decisions quickly which negates a lot of that anyway. I know a good defense might light him up though.
