Masahiro Tanaka IMO is the guy that I would target in F/A. He gives a different look from Yu and Hendricks. He would be a #3 SP. I would not offer Lester and temp fill with Mills until Marquez is ready. Alzoay would be the 5 then.

Hitting wise they are going to have to trade Bryant. I don't see them paying him or letting him walk. The rest are workable.

So are his constant whiffs and lack of RBI's, home runs etc etc. The 2012 101 loss Cubs had a better average than this club...WITHOUT a DH. I don't enjoy being negative...I'm just relating numbers. This lineup is absolutely one of the weakest Cub lineups in decades. I hate to see it blown up because of 2016...but that is starting to be a long damn time ago.

I'm more concerned with the O right now. The core has been hitting .200. that is the biggest issue going this whole year. Javy said that a big issue is watching video in-game has been banned. That has hurt a bunch of hitters in the league as they do between at Bat adjustment by watching their swing in videos.

Seems like when the hitters get to swinging the ab goes bad. The starter threw a strike or 2 into their cold zone to force them to swing then went out of zone to get the strike outs.

This feels like a discipline issue.

What has been nothing me is the lacking of walks in general. No way that there is a string of starters that are pinpoint like that. This just tells me that teams are just letting the hitters get them selves out.

A counter is going the other way. The hitters should know that they are going to get garbage early and bait late. So going the other way on a cold zone is a solid game plan then turn on mistakes. Don't let the pitcher have a easy out.
