Heard a wild story about a plane being hit with lightning about 2-3 days before I left for a trip to Vegas. Yeah, I was terrified when we were flying through some storms..

My favorite teams
Commercial air line pilots all have extensive training in executing evasive maneuvers specifically designed to avoid lightning strikes. Lightning can move faster than 40 miles an hour, so it's impossible for these heroic Captains to avoid 100% of the strikes.
I'm delighted to hear there was no loss of life in this incident. Gosh bless the service members and the brave crew of the aircraft.
