Time for Skille to put up or shut up.

Tired of waiting for him.

To think we could've had Kopitar instead of him.

I'm the boss of the 05 draft...even if it was a complete set-up to get me in Pittsburgh.

If he can't get it done this season, he won't be getting it done with the Blackhawks at all and it doesn't look likely that he would be getting it done anywhere in the NHL. I've said it before, he has a lot of offensive ability and has seemingly worked hard to improve defensively but the jury is obviously still out. I will say that his time in the AHL has helped his maturity and compete level. I hope he finally gets it done.

Sure he may still suck and never get it done.. but really, your gonna complain you'd rather of changed that pick? That's kinda freakish logic to me, I sure would rather take Skille and have him be nothing and take the Stanley Cup Championship reality with it.

Dumb question here, do you think he has any trade value?

You realize in that assessment, you change the outcome of what happened in the following seasons, meaning the Stanley Cup victory, don't you understand that? So you draft Kopitar over Skille and the several other prospects and you have faith he is gonna play for you going into 06 then maybe they pass on Toews for Kessel or whoever and with Kopitar playing in 06 they do better and don't earn the 1st pick and ability to draft Kane. Maybe Kopitar and Kessel would be playing like a great duo leading the team to a championship but is that a better reality, probably not at the greatest outcome it is a match.

Right now of course you rather would swap Skille for numerous players drafted behind him, but it doesn't work that way compadres .:obama:

I'd say yes but it isn't what it used to be and it would have to be as either a part of a package or sending him to a lower end team that he could come in and play for right away. He would likely have been in the NHL in some form had he been in an organization like the Oilers or the Panthers so he could probably pull more talent from a place like that than going to a place like Philly or Pittsburgh for example.

On the surface, Clyde's comment seems kindda goofy. Taken in hind sight, of course I would have taken Kopitar or any number of other players that went in that draft. But if you look at it in a larger context, it does make sense. It is possible that if the Hawks had taken Kopitar, the organization would have ended up in a totally different place that may or may not have ended up in a Stanley Cup. It an exercise in futility to discuss those things but he isn't crazy for looking at the Skille pick as part of the process. I mean if we hadn't taken Cam Barker, we would have never gotten KIm Johnsson :shifty:

I was going to post something similar. But essentially, yeah, what is done is done. Ya cannot go back and play "what if" games.

While our top pick in 05 still appears sketchy, that draft still got us an integral part of last year's team (and for this franchise's future).

I didn't say anything about drafting him, I just asked a question would you have drafted Kopitar over Skille
