Apologies if posted elsewhere. Will be merged into the coaching mega thread sometime soon
Hallelujah! The only one I'm somewhat sad about is Brown. Wish we could have kept him in the fold. I think he's going to be a great coach. And being mentored by McVay and then Ben Johnson could have been something. Sad for the guy getting such a raw deal here. Taking over the **** show Waldron and Eberflus left him was an impossible situation to emerge positively from.

This thread seemed like a good place to do it so I have been posting in there:

I think if they truly want to start over you have to clean house. Obviously Poles and the McCaskeys are still in place but other than that you almost have to go scorched earth and build it back. If you want to kill rot it has to be sanded or completely removed to prevent spread. The same can be said about an organization.

I'm not as up on Brown as others. He seemed average which may have made him look good by comparison when juxtaposed with our other coaches on this team.

This isn't possible. Thomas Brown is the perfect coach, or something!

He'll get a HC + GM job in days....then sign RB1 as his qb....and they'll probable be coach of the year/MVP next season while going undefeated and winning the super bowl together.

Yes, after the disaster of this season on top of the previous two losing seasons, you have to clean house. You can't keep the same coaches because they will just keep the losing past in the present. At no point did any of these assistants have success with the Bears organization. Perhaps they'll do well at their next stop, but anyone thinking that the Bears/Ben Johnson would be retaining the current staff was completely delusional.
