History was made Sunday night in Los Angeles.Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta threw the team's first no-hitter since Carlos Zambrano in 2008. Arrieta dominated all game long striking out 12 batters in the game. The right-handed pitcher struck out the side in the 9th and ended it with Chase Utley at bat. That was big. Aside from the accomplishment itself, it stopped a losing streak and the Dodgers winning streak. And it came at a time when there were rumblings the Cubs would be overmatched in the playoffs when facing pitchers like Bumgartner or Kershaw. It suggests, at least for this year, the Cubs also have someone like this. It's not just about the young guys.

I'm just pissed because I was at work and I missed it. I had to watch gamecast on my phone. But at least he did it. If he keeps doing what he's been doing this month, he should be the Cy favorite.

I was also at work and missed it. Lester needs to be money down the stretch and (hopefully) in the playoffs. Arrieta just needs to keep it up. It's possible to win on the backs of those two.
