The Athletics DFA'd him. he;d have to make it through the AL West, then the East and Central (unsure of order), before making it to the Nl, but I think it would be nice to get Fox back if we can.

No thank you.

We dont need another guy who can just hit, but doesnt have a true position. I mean he played some OF, but then that would mess up are already clustered OF

Highly unlikely you'll see Jake Fox in a Cubs uniform again. However, Hendry does have a soft spot for giving former players jobs at AAA as insurance. See Jason Dubois for instance. I do like the way he plays though.

This
Jake Fox has a ton of power, but he's horrid on defense and the Cubs already have a logjam in the OF

in fox's defense you can thank the cubs organization for his lack of a true posistion-- they switched him around so much while he was in their minor league syste it was ridiculous. he'd play 1st, catcher... they even had him pitching during ST one year then played him as a catcher during the season..... it was insane.

The reason they moved him around so much is because he sucked so bad defensively. They were trying to see where he sucked the least.

my point there was that the cubs have a way of changing things no matter what's going on just to "see what happens" ive seen it happen so many friggin times in the minors with them

Yeah, I know what you're saying. They're the worst with pitchers. Oh hey, this guy is set up to be a starter, oh screw it we'll make him a 7th inning guy.

Actually, his defense has been better than Soto's this year while behind the plate. His main position really isn't OF anymore.

I wouldnt take any stock in him only having 59 innings behind the dish.

There is no reason to take Fox back for anything other than organizational depth. I would imagine he stays on the A's at AAA.

I think you're exactly right. He should clear waivers and be in Sacramento in a week and a half. Unless Milwaukee wasn't him to call Casey McGehee the 2nd and turn him into an all-star catcher.
