an objective opinion? Peavy's at best a #3 starter for the rest of his career...at worst, he'll be relegated to bullpen. My personal belief, he'll prod around as a #4/#5 starter for the last 2-3 years of his relevant career...

This isn't b/c I'm a Cubs fan. It's b/c I'm a baseball fan. Peavy's injury is legit. I, personally, hope he bounces back and I'm completely wrong. I just don't see it.

If he is healthy, I see him being just fine and not another 5th starter.

the only aspect of the injury i am worried about is the mental part, in which i mean he adjusts his mechanics way too much so that he is not affective.

At best he's a Cy Young candidate year in and year out. At worst, he's done with baseball.

And no, you can't say that about any pitcher so please don't post that as a reply.

Now, where will he end up? I think Sox fans would be happy that he can start on Jun 1.

The problem with Peavy is that no pitcher has ever had an injury like that therefore, you really dont know waht sort of reecovery time there will be. Clearly, Doctors can say it will take X amount of time to recover but, that is in terms of just doing regular everyday stuff, to throw a baseball at the level that Peavy needs to as a 17 Million dollar pitcher, i don't see how he colud possibly do it again

didnt expect anything less. Dude is a competitor and will do whatever it takes to get back on the mound.

the psychological aspect of this statement holds water, yes. but being a competitor to lets say the extreme will not change the outcome of the physical aspect for good or bad.
