Silence to the trolls who will pop out of their cheeto laden lairs tonight. The kid is friggen amazing! Brought that team much further/faster than most anyone could have imagined. The guy is just winner who has a calm and poise of a 15 year vet. I also love the banter that he has with teammates and the way that he keeps those guys loose. The guy can also read the entire field and sling it with either touch or zip, can fit the ball into tight windows and throws a great deep ball. Top 10 in the league (at QB) already, the guy has it all in the arsenal.

But for all his talents, he can't play defense too... he needs more weapons on O... and his Oline is major sus.... the magic carpet ride comes to an end tonight. But to the haters who will crow -- just think about the trajectory he has that franchise on -- from 4 wins and 13 losses to 12-5 and a playoff win. Before you crow tonight, get your pipe ready and smoke on what he has accomplished for a while first.

Oh yeah... forgot to mention the 5 comeback wins for his career -- 4 in the reg and 1 in the playoffs. Off the charts stuff for a rookie. That may even be a record.

Like Stroud once teams have tape on him, he will have a tougher time next year unless he evolves. Same with Nix and Williams. QBs have to progress.

RG3 had a the better rookie year than Andrew Luck. But who had the better career? Luck did.

Not sure what you’re going off about. Many have recognized what he’s done this year.

Yes year 2 will be different for him just like every 2nd year player but i, and my very unprofessional opinion, is he will show growth in year 2 for all the reasons @Payton34Sayers40 gave in his OP. The kid has nerves of steel and he's so calm and cool under pressure that i believe he's that guy.

I’m not sure I understand the point of this post. Plenty of people had questions about him before he was in the NFL and a single season shouldn’t be enough to have everyone change their minds. He had a good year… almost everyone acknowledges that. He’s basically exceeded everyone’s expectations, and that in and of itself would have plenty of people unsure if he can maintain it regardless of what happens today. So again… not sure what you’re trying to get ahead of here. You think there’d otherwise be a thread saying he’s a bust if he loses?

Daniels is a year older than Williams and played 5 years of CFB compared to 3 years for Williams. He matured faster and played well. Hopefully Williams will get there as well, and we will see who has the higher ceiling.

I mean caleb was great in college since game 1 vs texas as a true freshman

Took jayden 5 years to be more than a mediocre CFB QB

You should seriously consider rooting for the Commanders.

If heavy doses of RPOs, college mesh concepts, and struggling to throw to his right is what makes him “top 10” he’s there!

Good guy, talented athlete, runs way too much, and had to be “your” guy pre-draft…

Victory laps at this stage are beyond humorous.

Funny how you already qualify he’s going to lose tonight but it won’t be his fault. You’re covered!

By the way, Williams had him but he doesn’t play defense either.

Hopefully, Washington wins tonight so the two Detroit idiots can STFU.

Wow!! End of the half and the W’s are looking in control and JD is playing incredible. They might make me eat my words that they will lose tonight.

Every time I see JD play like this, it’s incredible to realize our GM did not kick the tires in this guy. This guy is better than Lamar at this early stage — certainly better as a passer. Edge to Lamar as a runner. He is a franchise changing piece —- he is truly the generational guy out of this last draft.

For sure, he's obviously playing WAY better than Caleb... but this is the frustrating part of being a bears fan. You put a QB with bad coaching and poorly constructed team, and it's hard for me as a fan to know for sure.

CW has a lot of work to do with down the field accuracy and getting the ball out quickly.

Granted he had a far worse offensive line than expected but his accuracy was shit.
