Hub Arkush said there's a good chance he retires after the season.

God I hope so. Maybe the next guy will actually try to draft an Offensive line to protect Cutler and Forte. We saw what Cutler and Forte looks like against the Jets when they have time to do something

This is only good if a successful, competent GM takes his place.

I fear, my friends...I fear.

Hub Arkush also said that the Bears would hire Bill Cowher, so I'm taking this w/ a grain of salt. If JA retires, Tim Ruskell will become the Bears GM, and he's much worse of a GM than Angelo. He single handedly toke apart and destroyed a team that was a contender in '05 and '06 w/ poor drafting and horrible personnel moves

Tim Ruskell would be a bad, bad replacement, even for JA. How are they going to hire Cowher when Lovie just won them them NFCN?

I think there has been talk of people thinking that would happen before, and by retire, what they mean is be "Promoted" into another position with the Bears organization, just to move away from the GM spot.

It was brought up when the Tim Ruskle hire came to play and before it when they had their big fancy press conference last winter.

Didn't Tim Ruskle also help assemble that Seatle championship team.. I think what dismantled them more than anything was their superstar RB getting old. Plus Holmgren without some power at that point.

That contributed, but his horrible drafting and personnel moves sunk the team which was a contender.
